Default Dry Embossing with punches??

 I saw a stunning card in the gallery today by Trishka and in her description she said she dry embossed the background with punches. How do you do that? Can someone help me out? I would attach a link, but am not sure how.
Thanks,
Samsommy

Hi Samsmommy-
I used my daisy punch to make a stencil from dark card stock. So just use the negative part- does this make sense? I then held it up to my patio door with
the card base and embossed with the empressor stylus as I don't have the
light table. It worked quite well- and I had my stamping club girls try it
out- although I had to resort to the casserole dish and Christmas lights then because the class was in the evening!
Hope this helps!

Here's a card I made using a similar techinque:

Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

I punched flowers the same color as the bg cardstock then glued them onto the bg cardstock, then pierced around them to highlight them more. It gives a semi-dry embossed look and it's quick and easy (just like me-HA HA).

And here's another more recent one I did for my DH with this technique:

Trish, if you have this dilemma again (i.e. dry embossing at night), just go outside in the dark and do it on the window looking in! Luckily we had a glass door in our previous house so it worked well, even in winter as there was a roof over the front door! LOL

I love this site! You can learn something new every day! Who would have thought to go outside and use the light inside the house for embossing! It may now work so well in the winter in Canada, but what the heck, I'm always up for a challenge.

Default Punches that Dryemboss!

There are some corner punches out now that will dry emboss a pretty design in the corner. They are by Fiskars. Is that what she used?I have a couple and they make very pretty cards.
