Hi ladies! This is my first post. I am a new SU demo and I'm looking for some ideas of things I can demo that will really "wow" my hostesses on their guests but don't take tons of fancy supplies. I am working on getting a collection of cool inks and accessories but I still have not much more than what can in my starter kit. So far I have been colouring the stamp with blending pens, doing watermark and pulled pastels, two step stamping and direct to paper on the edges. I am ready to move on a bit! I am getting some fancy fibres any day now and learned tonight how to do a "hot" card with baking paper, tissue paper and saran wrap. I'm an atrsy and creative person, I just need a little inspiration to get me moving ahead with my stamping. Where should I go from here? Thank you for all your help and suggestions!
Take a look in the techniques forum. There are all kinds of great ideas in there. There is also a workshop ideas section in the demo forums with some excellent things in it.
I don't know if you've got the stuff yet, but heat embossing is always a big wow.
What fun for you! I had the thought you could check through the Technique Lovers Challenges in the Challenge forum. Or go through the VSN challenges for inspiration! I'm just a customer but I loved anything on glossy paper when I saw it!
BTW...we love vacationing at Cultas Lake and always spend time in Chilliwack! Beautiful area up there!
Thank you Carolync6 and Buzzy for your tips. I don't have the stuff for embossing yet but am hoping to buy it soon- it's fun to do and looks great. That's what we did for make-n-take at the first SU workshop I ever attended. Today I am going to try and make a hair gel card and a heat shrink card and see how those turn out. I will check out the techniques section, thank you!
Buzzy- it is beautiful up here and thank you. I live about 5 minutes from Cultus Lake, I feel so blessed. You're from the Pacific Northwest? Seattle area? I actually spend quite a bit of time down there, I have a good friend in Auburn. I love it there.
Sounds like you have some ideas set, I find that the hardest part! I spent the day at my folks teaching my mom and her friend (who just lost her husband) how to make a few cards. It's so much easier to be the student!
We live north of Seattle in Edmonds. My children don't even know about the Peace Arch since we always go through Sumas! My boys love your water park.
I would love to know how to do the Hair Gel and the other Tech. that you talked about. Please email me if you can @ [email protected] I am a New SU conslt as well. I am in Indiana. Thanks
Buzzy- Edmonds is a nice area. I love heading across the border, in fact my SU upline is taking us to Birch Bay for a girl's stamping night this week!
And for those who were asking about the gel card- you can get little tiny ziploc-type bags in a craft or dollar store that are prefect, I got a bag of about 100 for $1 here in our dollar store!
