Default EP and Pearl Ex ?

This may be a dumb question, but I'm relatively new to stamping. I have an idea for a card but I'm stuck on steps needed to achieve it. I want a background of shimmering angels and wisemen using Holy Triptych with pearl ex in a burgundy shade, and I want the Holy Family centered on that embossed in gold. Please tell me if these steps will achieve it... or if I'll end up with a shimmering mess: I thought of first using Versmark with the angels and wisemen stamps, and use a dauber to apply pearl ex. Then use embossing ink to stamp the Holy Family image and sprinkle on the gold powder, shake off excess, heat, etc. I'm kinda concerned that the embossing powder will also stick to the Versmark. What do you think?

Don't know if the second image will be the only one that has uptake of the EP. Perhaps doing the second image on acetate or vellum so that you can see the other image through it?

Default Embossing

Your idea sounds great and sparks many ideas in my mind for this years Christmas cards. I have tried to wait after I used Versamark before trying to emboss another image over the top and found that you have to wait a long time for it to dry or heat set it. Happy experimenting...perhaps there is someone who knows more than we do that can help you.

I'd do the second image first. You could do your embossing (let it cool) and then stamp versamark over the embossing. The versamark shouldn't bother the embossing and you can apply the pearl ex where you want.
