Here's a card I saw that mentions the term "FINGER WALKED" in the description, but I've never heard of this before.

Thanks.

I'm sure if you pm Rox71 that she would be glad to explain it. She has always helped me when I needed it.

Finger walking is something you do with background stamps. That card in particular, she says in the description that the white piece was finger walked in creamy caramel with linen after it was stamped off. So here's the process:

Ink the Linen background stamp with creamy caramel. Stamp off (which isn't something you have to do for finger walking...I'm guessing she just wanted a softer look). Lay the background on the table, rubber side up and put the white cardstock on top, as if you were just going to use the background 'as is.' Instead of pressing evenly to get a good solid image of the background stamp, use your fingers to just "walk" on the cardstock. Like you're typing on a typewrite or something. Be random. You'll end up with just a bit of texture on an otherwise plain piece of paper.

Hope that helps some!

Sounds like a nifty technique. Don't have to worry about even coverage and would look great as a vintage background. Will try it with my canvas stamp.
