Fruit cans - how to attach bottom?
I think those fruit cans are really cute. But how do you reattach the bottom of the can after filling them?

I attach them with crystal effects. Just squirt some around the rim and attach. It works great!

They make cute holders for party favors or little gifts. Here's one pic I pulled from the gallery.

You MUST use the kind of can opener that removes the entire lid, not the kind that punches through it. I think the general consensus around here is to use Crystal Effects to glue the bottom back on, since it's pretty permanent and doesn't have the same noxious fumes as superglue or E-6000 adhesive.

fruit cans
I use crystal effects. Holds very well! Have not had any problems using this.

Fruit can users! Do you have to compress or clamp the bottom to the can to hold it in place to dry proper?
I noticed on the one I did try to make, that the bottom didn't quite fuse back into place and I had to press and hold it for a time with my hands.
What do you do to get it to avoid any gaps? Weight it with a heavy book or something?

Julie, when I made mine I used the SU catalogs; just stacked a couple on the cans until the crystal effects set.

Cool! thanks, Claudia!
I've been saving all my cans with pop tops . . . maybe some day I'll have enough to do a stamp camp with 'em! LOL!

I demo'd this last night!!!!! They LOVED it!
I did a regular size fruit can--not the tiny ones as I don't have any of those.
They just FLIPPED!
