Folks fill their Aqua painters with it. THen dip it in Pearl Ex and paint with it. The floor wax seals it so you don't have to spray it. Here's one I did recently.

Default future floor wax

Consuelo,

Thanks for sharing. I was trying to think of a new technique to show at Stamp Camp this month and I think I will copy yours. That is beautiful!

Hope

Are you talking about the floor wax or the Pearl Ex?

You can get the floor wax at your local grocery store. I use Future Floor finish.

The Pearl Ex you can buy from Stampin' Up!.

Default Floor wax in the aqua painter

Okay - dumb question. Can you rinse and use the aqua painter with water again? or do you need to keep it designated for floor wax?

Default Pearl Ex

I have heard and I am certainly no expert, but I have heard that you should just dedicate on aqua painter to the floor wax.

Thanks

No need to clean it off. Mine never gunked up. I've had it filled for well over a year (you can tell by how old this thread is  ) and I just checked it. It's still wet and very fluid. I've never had to clean it out. It's never gunked up. I think as long as you keep the lid on it you can avoid the gunk. ;)

Future is actually an acrylic floor finish and contains no wax. So I would guess that if you used another acrylic floor finish you would get similar results, but I'd go with the tried and true.

I am familiar with Future because I use it with my Polymer clay all the time. If I were to use it in an aqua painter, I would do what is suggested with the use of bleach in aqua painters: I would not KEEP the future in the painter, but fill it when I was going to use it and then rinse it out after use. It is water soluable(if I remember right) but will gunk up the bristles if you let it dry in there.

I need to find my bottle of Future. I hope that I didn't get rid of it in an insane cleaning moment...

Beate did a tutorial on Pearl Ex-Painted Pearls in resources. In the gallery are several cards using this technique.

The cards she did were stunning. She said she just rinsed out her aqua painter well and it was fine to use again with something else. Love this technique. Can't wait to try it.

I got my bottle for Future floor cleaner from Shaw's. Can't believe it was ~$8! Does it come in a smaller size than that? I've never heard of it before....hmmmm, maybe I should clean more often. Nevermind, I'm sticking to stamping. I though Beate's tutorial was awesome, I don't know how she comes up with all of this--so awesome!!

I bought my Future Floor Wax in Calgary at Sobey's (IGA) grocery store. It was about $8 or $9 CDN for the container and it only comes in 1 size.
