Try a Bingo Dauber. Just make sure you clean it out really good.

I just used what was available when I got it in the mail, I had a little plastic tub, the kind that your crystal light comes in. It was sitting there as I was ready to make some when the package arrived, I have been using it ever since! Maybe someone else has something more technical to reccommend.

I've gotten an envelope moistner from the Office supply store. It's a little plastic bottle with a sponge dauber on the top. It doesn't have a cover to seal it so you'd have put it in a baggie if you were transporting it. I just press the stub on the sponge (after tipping it to get the sponge moist). It works great.

At Michaels in the art supply section ( at my store it was against the back wall in a bin) they have a bottle with a slanted sponge tip with a screw top. It is around 4" tall. It was around 2.00. You tip up the bottle to moisten the sponge and then press your stump into the sponge until it is moist. It works great, no worrying about spilling and once done you screw the top on and put away.
