Default Glass block lights... help!

I want to do a stampes glass block light. I have seen so many cute ones that were printed. However, does anyone know where to buy the single blocks? Home Depot and Lowes don't carry them by me!
Has anyone done a stamped one? I was going to stamp tissue paper and decoupage it on.

Thanks!
Lisa

Lisa

I've seen them at Home Depot - but they are the bigger sized ones. If you stamp on them, you'll want to use stazon. I've seen them at JoAnns - they've used the rub on type stickers on theirs and they are rather pricey.

Default glass block lights

I'm not sure if this is what you are asking about, but go to www.inkyantics.com and check under the accessories tab, and scroll down nearly to the bottom. There special this month is free gamsol with a $40 purchase.

Inky Light Refill Kit

The refill kit contains the essentials for your Inky Light(TM), one of our 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" glass blocks and a string of 20 miniature clear lights. Order this kit if you already have the Sticky and Laminating Sheets or if you're using a Xyron machine for the cardstock panels. See instructions for details, or e-mail us if you have questions.

Inky Light Refill Kit
$14.95
plus S/H surcharge (see note below)

Note: The glass blocks are fairly heavy, about one pound each. Due to the excess weight, there will be a $3 surcharge for this item in addition to our regular S/H charges. If you're ordering two or more Starter Kits or Refill Kits (any combination), the surcharge is a flat-fee of $6 in addition to our regular S/H charges. Stock up on Refill Kits, and save on shipping! Please be aware that you won't see this S/H surcharge appear in your shopping cart upon checkout, but it will be added to your credit card charge at the time your order is shipped.

I just did a workshop on the glass bricks. Let me tell you drilling the hole for the lights was the hardest part. You have to have a 1/2" drill bit for glass and tile. and you must use some water on the drill bit while drilling. It takes a lot of muscle. and take your time. It will take a few minutes don't try to rush it, it will cause the glass to crack.
Then we rinsed the inside and dryed it the best we could with the heat gun.
Now ready to stamp...the fun part. wipe the side that the lights are not going on with rubbing alcohol. let dry. Use embossing buddy. I used large snowflakes stamps. I re inked my versamark pad. and versamarked snowflakes all over the front glass. Covered with embossing powder. Used a large sheet of paper under glass to catch empossing pwoder afterwards. then pour empossing powder back in container. Then set glass on table and heat set. it takes time to heat set glass.
It looks great like this but if you want to do more you can etch it with etching cream. Just spread itching cream over the front (some of us did the back glass and not the front and that looked great also). Spread with a cheap foam brush. let stand 5 minutes. and rinse well.
Stringing the lights takes time puching the lights one at a time in the hole but it is worth it. and you want to find lights with white cording. Happy stamping. And remember ink is calorie free.

Default No drilling with open blocks

The glass bricks that I remember from years and years ago had a large oval opening in the top (or bottom if you stacked them that way). So I asked Inky Antics about the blocks they sell. Their reply...
"The glass block has a large oval opening on the top to stuff the lights
inside. Then you hide the opening with a bow or decoration. No hole is
drilled. I hope that this helps. Have a wonderful Holiday!"

Does anyone one know when we can buy just the blocks with the oval opening?
I have bought them at Home Depot but they have to be drilled.

Thanks

I'm checking in to see if anyone else found another place to buy the blocks?
