Help!! I am trying to make my first lunch tin and I purchased the larger tin so the templates I have do not match the tin! Does anyone have a solution or a template for the larger tin? My tin is provo craft but it is the 8X6.5x4. I have tried to alter the 4X7 template but then the top doesn't match where the handle is at! AUGH!!! Please help! Thanks Janell
I haven't used the templates for covering the lunch tins. I prefer to cut my top cover paper a little smaller than the actual size (that way, there is no catch or overlap). Then, I cut my paper in half. Then, I just rub on the paper, where the handles are, and cut out by hand. Trim small, cause you can always trim more off if needed.
Good luck! That box sounds like a great one! Where did you get it? I've only seen the smaller ones at Michaels/Joann/Recollections. I know that the one that OrientalTrading.com has is a little deeper (holds more cards) than the ones in the stores (that and the handle is single, instead of double).
Well, it wasn't until 3:00 am that I finally finished my tin for a friend. I can't believe how time consuming they are but I do realize it wouldn't be as long if I did another one! I think it turned out well and I did calendars on the inside dividers. Thanks for the advice and I just ended up improvising to get around the handles. I wanted to let you know I got this bigger one from Archievers with their 30% off coupon of course because they are around $10.00 otherwise! I heard the ones at Hobby Lobby are fairly cheap. Now I am off to make my Target mini mailboxes! FUN FUN!! THANKS Janell

I've search and searched the OrientalTrading website and cannot find the tin you were talking about, unless it is the Purse Tin: IN-65/90055. The size is listed as 7" I can't find anything that tells the highth, width, length. Is this the tin of which you are speaking? I am looking for one that will hold about 25 cards and the dividers.
I was at a workshop where a woman said she cut the paper a tad larger than the area she was covering, adhered the paper and used a sanding block to sand off the edges and round the corners. I haven't done this myself, but watching her do it quickly was inspiring and I intend to try it myself, shortly!
ebbcreations.com has free templates for the regular large provo craft tin and you can probably just increase it on a copier. If the tin you got was from oriental trading than it is larger.
