I am an avid crafter, but I am just getting into stamping on a large scale. Can anyone tell me the best method to mask a stamp? I have some stamps with more design than I would like to use, but I don't know the best way to cover the parts I don't want transferred onto my card. In the past a demonstrator showed us how to use post-it notes for masking, but I would really like some input before I mess up a bunch of projects experimenting.
Depending on how big your stamp is, you can use the post-it notes or just plain scotch tape. I have use both. It wont harm your stamps.
Happy Stamping,
Madeline

Best way to not use parts of a stamp you don't want on your card is to not ink that part in the first place. Post-its work, but they can fall off. Color your stamp with markers or crayons, then either huff on it to moisten with your breath or spritz lightly before stamping. HTH
I have something called a masque pen. It is blue fluid that you squeeze over the image you want to mask. It dries, you stamp and then you rub it off. It dries like latex and so you can just rub your fingers over it to remove it. It is obviously very easy to use, but might work out expensive.
I have also seen a roll of tacky tape that you stamp on cut around and you can use it as a mask over and over again. If you want more information, I will try and find the link.
I think it depends on the design, a simple design and it is easy to use a post it note, an intricate design and you might be better off with the masque pen.
I just purchased the Masque Pen with the blue liquid that Ally mentioned earlier in this thread. I just tried it out and it dried great, but when I lifted it off it all the color from the ink below it came with it. Is there a trick to this that anyone who has used has picked up while using this? Can you use this on all SU paper?
