HELP!! photo frame pg.109 SU! book

Ok, how do they make the cute photo frame on page 109? It says that they use the small book basics, but if you look at the frame, each side is a square- and the small book is a rectangle. Did they cut it in half? (and if so, what would you cut it with?!?)
I have a class on this THIS weekend! HELP!!!

I don't think that they cut it in half because it still wouldn't come out with a square.
Perhaps it is just the angle that the photo was taken at, that makes it appear square. At any rate, you definately could do the same photo frame, using the materials they suggested and having a rectange, which would be perfect for a 4 x 6 snapshot!
