You can do a quick search and find lots of threads on this. The can is opened from the bottom using a safety can opener. I got mine at Walmart. The opener opens the the can on the side of the rim, not the inside edge of it so it leaves it smooth. It also allows the can to be put back together. Make sense? Anyway, usually I have the kids eat the fruit, wash it out then save the can and bottom for further use. When I am ready to use it, I decorate it, add candy, ribbon, other goodies then seal the bottom to the can using crystal effects. Let dry. Very simple to make these

Oh, and crystal effects is recommended because it won't leave an odor on the inside.

HTH. Have fun making these!
