Question How do they do this?

I have a TAC catalog and they have a lot of samples doing this technique. I found this card in our gallery here and she says the technique is Paper Piercing. Well I don't see any paper that was pierced so what am i not understanding. I love the way thins looks and would love to try it.

TIA

Maybe it was supposed to be paper 'piecing'? I would try to PM the person who uploaded the card. HTH

Well now I am wondering if I read it wrong. But I don't really know about paper piecing either. Looking a tthe sample you can't really see seems where seperate pieces of paper meet.

The apple and leaf were cut out and glued to the black CS (leaving a little gap so the black forms an outline).

No I just looked at the pic in the gallery and she does say paper piecing. Maybe she just cuts things out better than me. Is it really as easy as stamping on patterned paper and cutting it out?

To do this technique the first thing you do is stamp the background paper with the same image you are piecing together. It is very similar to the the technique they did this week in the technique challenge... faux ch.... or something.. then you stamp you images on decorated or other paper it and place it over the image you stamped on the background paper. This way if have any thin pieces like an antenna or stem you dont have to cut that piece. Hope this helps.. Susie

It looks to me like she drew around the apple with a black marker.

Shannon - you crack me up!! It's super simple. I make sure I cut just inside the patterned paper's image that way the lines show up nicely! BTW, this perfect for all that beautiful Basic Grey paper we sell!

Here are some other cute examples of it...not by me!!

Just go back to being a child and think like a child....when doing this tech.

Stamp an image on your cardstock, Don't color it. But take a piece of scrapbook paper or Basic grey paper and stamp with same stamp and then cut your image out.

Then take that cut image and glue it to the Cardstock, in the same place that you stamped before. It easy and fun!

another reason to like this tech is it gives you a great look. That you can not always get with pens, markers, inks and so on and on.

Just have fun!

Here's one I did a while back. using this tech.....
