My new recruit will be doing a party on Tuesday and I want to give her some ideas for her pastels. I admit that I don't use them a lot, but they are in her starter kit and I want to give her some great ideas! Please help me. I have tried using the Peaceful Pastoral for a Thanksgiving theme card and I just don't seem to be very successful with them. Do you always use the versamark pad first? I wish the starter kit came with watercolor pencils!! I love those with the blender pens. Thanks people!
My favorite way to use the pastels is with the blender pen, just wipe it across an edge of the chalk, then color your image. Then wipe the brush clean on paper and switch colors. Its an easy thing to demo and will sell the pastels and blender pens. Oh, also another nice thing is to chalk the edges of the paper for a soft look, it looks really good chalked if its torn.
Of course there is always the poppin pastels. Hope that helps.

I just stamped the pumpkins from carved and candlelit in only orange, then smudged a little ruby red chalk over that, it gave the pumpkins a really pretty "glow".
I have been successful in using the chalks in 2 ways and the Versamark pad in 2 ways at workshops.
1. Choose a line image. Stamp the background of the card in Versamark using the line image stamp. Then, stamp same stamp on white and color in with pastels.
2. On the second card, do a Poppin' Pastels example (stamp in Versamark and color over the versamark with pastels.)
I've seen other posts that say go to Forums/downloads/resources, but it's not on my page of forum topics. Is there a section that is just for demo's? I'm not one, so maybe that's why I don't get that. Or another perk of being a paying member? I'm curious!
