Default Impressionistic watercolor??

Okay, I need to know what is impressionistic water color and how do you do it? I've seen the samples, now just need to "understand". Thanks for any help!

I tried US vanilla and Shimmering; and loved the Shimmering much better. I used a fine stream water bottle and misted the paper until it was very damp. I then inked up my stamp (I used a deer) in a spectrum pad and stamped on the shimmering, lifted the stamp and stamped a second time just slightly off register. The colors should run beautifully. Then I dryed it with my heat tool, re-inked the deer stamp, but this time with Basic Brown, and stamped over the top of the watercolor deer image.

Thanks Kimmer. I was wondering the same thing as Kylara. I recently joined here and a lot of the samples used this technique. I started looking to see how it was done and then I found this post. I wasn't able to find any tutorals on this technique. So basically you mist your paper and the inks bleed to give you a watercolored effect.

yes, you want your paper damp so your ink bleeds. Then dry the paper and re-stamp with the same or different ink. It is such a beautiful effect. I'm gonna use it at an upcoming stamp camp.

Default Ex. Watercolor

An excellent source for this technique I have used was from Pat Huntoon's Technique Junkie newsletter..Her web address is www. techniquejunkies.com/
I found the wetter the paper and I used SU white confetti or the naturals, the better it looks when dried. Happy stamping!

I've done samples using the same colors on top (once dry), a different color, flat cs and crumpled cs. They all turn out nice. I did one that is cracked glass over the top. It was awesome and everyone looks at it longer than other samples.

Here is one that has been uploaded already. It is done with markers, same colors both times. If I get a chance I'll try to upload the cracked glass one too. It was done with a different color over the top.

I uploaded the other 2 so you can see the comparisons. All three are done with Stipple Rose.
