I made Hallowe'en pens for my campers next week.
This is a LITTLE dangerous so don't let your munchkins do it.
1. Black Bic Pen. I filled it half-way full with orange sand.
2. Took my heat gun and warmed up the end of the pen until it started to bend (NOT MELT)
3. Waited for that section to cool a bit.
4. Took my heat gun and warmed up the pen again an inch or two farther down and bent it the other way.
5. Waited for that section to cool a bit.
6. Took my heat gun and warmed up the pen again an inch or two farther down and bent it the other way.
Pen is now curvey. I wrapped some black ribbon around the top and secured it with a pumpkin brad and a little Crystal Effects.
It's a very neat looking pen!!
Sorry I don't have a picture.

because the gun is so hot. Less than a minute to heat it up and then carefully bend it to the position you want. You really have to watch it while you heat it so that you don't overheat it.
Once you do one, you'll get hooked!! lol
The kids would LOVE it.

Thanks! Well, I'll be off to buy Bic pens this weekend...
I have SUCH sweet kids this year, so I enjoy doing things for them...Yes, I think they will love these!
It's not a dumb question if two or more think of the same question!
I also wanted to know if you left the ink cartridge inside the pen while heating it????
I'm really curious to try this one....I work at an elementary school and we're always trying to find new fun ideas for the kids and parents to do together. Thanks for posting the idea.

I did heat it with the ink inside. If you don't, you can't get the ink back into the pen everytime.
I will try to take a picture of it tomorrow and post it for you to see if i can figure that out. lol
It's really not that hard, honest!!!
