Ohhhh, you HAVE to get it. There are so many cool techniques!

My favorite technique right now is making shimmer spray. It makes beautiful sparkly holiday cards! In a travel-sized hair spray bottle, mix an inch of hairspray, an inch of alcohol, and 1/4 tsp of pearlex (gold or pearl are my favorites). Shake it up well. Spray it above your cardstock and let the mist fall down on the paper. Voila! From plain to pizzazz.

My other favorite technique is to paint with it. Fill an aquapainter with Future floor wax. Dip into pearlex and paint your image.

OK, I have one more favorite. Use pearlex like you use chalk for poppin pastels with the Versamark pad.

I think I need to give a class on Pearlex! I have so many favorite techniques I just need to show!

My favorite backgrounds are done with a Versamark and interference pearl ex... I can try to download a picture, but I doubt it will show the shimmer...

I love pearl ex. I would have to say that about half of the cards I make involve pearl ex in some way. The gold is my favorite. It looks great when outlinign the veins on leaves and definately try it on the gold paper using versamark. French script makes on awesome background on the gold paper with pearl ex. Pictures don't do pearl ex justice. It has to be seen in person.

Hey Emily and Joy - I also just bought a Pearl-ex asst. and haven't used it yet!!! I printed a tip sheet from somewhere here on SCS. We need to get togther and play with it.

I also have a Xyron I've almost never used. need to watch the video to figure out all the stuff you can do. Anybody want to come over and teach me instead? :?

I've seen using pearl-ex with the xyron.

I have used PE with the xyron...very cool, but the cards scanned very dark and do them absolutely no justice!

Stamp image on window sheet/transparency paper with staz on. send it through the xyron machine. Peel off back and stipple PE on the sticky part. Then adhere to CS, I like the black.

You will love it if you try it.

Default PE On Polymer Clay

Stamp something like the star from Mozel Tov set into Polymer Clay and then rub Pearl Over the top.

Heat up black funfoam, then press stamp into it for a raised image. When it cools off- rub Pearl Ex across the top.

When you use pearl ex with versa mark, do you need to seal it?

No, but after I shake off the excess, I brush it very gently with a tissue to remove any strays.
