Default One Cell Ink Cartridges and Silver or Gold Ink Refills

Has anyone tried to use the Stampin' Up one cell ink cartridges and put silver or gold ink into them? Does this work? I know you can buy white ink cartridges has anyone tried those, and how well do they work?

Default Silver/Gold

I've used a silver ink refill and it worked just fine. It's what I used for my Christmas cards.

I filled one with silver for christmas cards and it works good. You have to refill it alittle more than the regular ink but it worked fine!!

That's how I got gold for the Swirling stars Jumbo wheel - only way. Wish they would come out with more colors!

I wish they had ink cartridges for the metallic colors. I had a hard time filling it - was messy and then didn't stamp very evenly. What's the trick to filling them? TIA - shelly

Default Wheels without cartridges

I have bought the Classic Cartridges in a lot of colors as I needed them. Then one day I said what if, and inked my wheel to do cardstock backgrounds. It worked perfectly with pigments like gold and silver. Also I have used it for the Craft pads.

You just have to ink it for every roll. A little extra work, but if you don't have the cartridge, you get pretty good at it.

I haven't tried a big project like diagnally 8 1/2"X11", or bags.

Just a thought when you don't have the cartridge. It does work well for me.

I'm with you, Shirley! I use my wheels a lot just by running them over the ink pad. You can get about 7" before you lose color, so it won't work for the larger projects, but it works great for card sizes!

I just want to make sure that I understand this. I have an empty cell Jumbo cartridge and I'm going to fill it will silver pigment ink refill. I would like to use the Swirl Jumbo Wheel on my Christmas cards on Night of Navy. Do you think that will work? I'm kind of scared to try it! I don't want to mess up my cartridge.

Thanks in the advance!

I haven't wheeled - if you fill up the cartridge with one color ink, do you have to use that color from then on or can you wash it & use a diff. color???
