Default Paint Can Template

This is a template of a 1 gallon paint can label, with cutouts for the handle housings. Print two copies of the file, cut along the lines and tape together as indicated in the illustration. You can use this to trace onto wrapping paper or whatever you want to use to make the label. It goes all the way around the can with a little overlap.

Enjoy!

Cyndie

To save the file from this website to your hard disk, do the following:

From Mac: right click (if you have a two-button mouse) or hold down the mouse button on the file name (if you have a one-button mouse) until the popup window comes up. Choose "Save target as..." --navigate to where you want to save it, then click OK (or Save, I forget which). Then you can open and print the file from wherever you saved it.

From PC: right click on the file name until the popup window comes up. Choose "Save target as..." --navigate to where you want to save it, then click OK (or Save, I forget which). Then you can open and print the file from wherever you saved it.

These procedures are applicable to any file that you wish to download to your computer, not just this one.

The password protection on my file is there to prevent alterations to the file. It will not prevent you from printing it.

*****PLEASE READ BEFORE CLICKING ON FILE---
You won't be able to get this file by just left-clicking on the file name. You need to RIGHT-click then choose the option that lets you download it to your computer. Then you can open it from there. If you are having problems downloading, send me a Private Message.

This is great, but how do you get the holes around the handles? I did a paint can already, and I had to put my two pieces of paper together at the handles to accomodate the holes. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

When I did mine the hard way, without a template, I cut the holes with my CM circle cutter then cut a slit to the top. That way the circle opened to slide arounf the handle, but fit perfectly back together and you could not tell

When I bought paint cans from the local paint store, they gave them to me with the handles separate so I could put them on myself. You might be able to remove the handles temporarily, if you don't want to cut slits.

I am unable to open it. I tried saving it to my computer and opening it, but that still doesn't work, does anyone have any other suggestions. I really want to make one of these for my Godfather's 50th birthday this summer.

Thanks for your help.

I'd be glad to help anyone with with opening the file, but I think I'll need a little more information from you, as I am having no trouble opening it either on my Mac or on my work PC.

First, make sure you are saving the file to disk, then opening your Acrobat Reader program, then go to the File menu, choose Open, and find the file from wherever you saved it. This is the most foolproof way of opening the file. If you still can't open it, check your version of Acrobat Reader. The most recent version is 6.0, and if you are using an older version you might need to upgrade (go to http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html).

If after trying these things it still doesn't work, please PM me and I'll see what I can do.

Red face Paint Can Template won't open

Hi Cyndie,
I love the template, I can open it here, but I can not save it. It says I need a password...that some options are password protected...am I doing something wrong? (I am not real computer savvy...) I have a Mac.

thanks for any help,
Colleen Schaan

Ooo, I'z so excited!! I tried making these for teacher gifts, but just ended up with a cheesy-looking label on the front because I did not have the time to figure out how to get around the handles. Thanks!!

For anyone having trouble downloading the template, you need to know that it likely will not work by just clicking on the file. You need to right click on it and "Save Target As...", save it to your hard disk, then open it from there.

If you have a Mac, instead of right-clicking, just hold down the mouse button on the filename until the popup menu comes up. Then you can "Save Target As...".

PM me if you are still having trouble after trying this.
