Default Pearl Ex Floored and which paper?

What paper works best with this technique? I'm working on a technique booklet and tried this one for the first time. It sucks! I tried it on window sheets (acetate), vellum, US white cardstock and glossy cardstock with the same black embossed image on all of them. It looks pretty crappy on all of them. I wasn't squeezing my aquapainter, but it just seemed too wet and I couldn't get enough color on the papers. Any suggestions would be welcomed! I've done plenty of searches, but haven't come across my problem! Thanks!

How are you applying the Pearl Ex?
I use Future Floor Wax and apply with a regular paint brush. I use SU card stock as well as ACMoore/Michaels card stock and it seems to work find with both. I do heat set after painting. Below is a link to my gallery that shows a card I did using Pearl Ex to paint the butterfly. The more color you use and less wax will determine the concentration of the color as well as thickness of application.
Good Luck, Rhonda
