I bought some of those small 2 1/4x2 1/4 ceramic tiles from Menards. I want to make magnets out of them. I have tried several ways to stamp on them and NOTHING is working. The tiles have a dull glaze on them. I've tried sanding them; using Stazon, pigment, and classic ink; tried to emboss them; tried Versamark; tried heating them with heat gun before stamping. So....what am I doing wrong? I'm ready to toss all of them in the trash.

I don't think it is you, I think it is the glaze...Don't give up on yourself but you may want to give up on those tiles...beyond that, stamping on tiles is something I have never been successful at either so I don't have any further instructions...sorry!
Maybe you could try using something that is used to prepare glass for painting. I'm not sure what it is called but it "prepares " the glass to accept the paint. Good Luck!
I have only made tiles once and it was at a workshop. We had tiles that a had a little bit of a glaze also.
The demo had us put a light layer of Lumiere on the tile and use the heat gun to dry.
And then we stamped our image with Stazon. We colored in with pastels and she suggested sealing with Krylon.

I agree, I think it is the glaze on the tiles keeping anything from sticking. Had the same problem myself and then got the rougher, unglazed ones instead.
You might want to try brushing on a clear sealant prep solution - you find it in the same section of the craft store as the little bottles of acrylic paint - it will give the surface some 'tooth' for your ink to hold onto. Just check the prep solution to see if it will work on ceramic/glazed surfaces. I've used it on wood and ceramic before and it works really well, then you can stamp with Staz-on and color any way you choose. HTH.
You could use these tiles to modge podge on images. Stamp images on tissue paper and use crystal effects or modge podge over them. They would make cute magnets and you won't have to fret about the image rubbing off the glazed tiles.
To stamp directly on tiles..use unglazed ones and stazon.
Thank you, everyone, for all of your input. I printed it off and will use it as I try to do the magnets.
I did find today that I could remove the Stazon black ink from the magnets, even after it had dried 24 hours, with fingernail polish remover. So at least I don't have to throw them away and I can try some of the suggestions you all have offered.
