My mom went for a mammogram last week and got a call from her Dr that they found something that looks like calcium deposits, but they want her to come back and take another mammogram. She is so scared and I am too, although I am trying to be brave for her sake. I really hope someday to find a cure for this horrible disease and I plan to sell, sell, sell those sets to raise as much money as I can to help support breast cancer awareness!
Yes, prayers from us, too!
I was a mammo tech for twelve years, please know that this is VERY common. It could be deoderant residual, calcium from a mole or skin change, other things. The only way to get a better look is to take a few more views, I know it's scary to get that call, but do keep faith and let us know, o.K.?
I'm so glad SU is doing this. The set is very nice and nearly everyone has a friend or family member that has been dignosed with Breast Cancer. I do and she is doing great, 6 years later.
know that I will be praying too. My best friend from life lost her battle with breast cancer two years ago this month and it is still very hard. Her daughter misses her everyday.
I will pray that all is well with your mom...and I will SELL SELL SELL to get more money for the cause, too.

What a scary time for all of you. I just want you to know that I am praying for the doctors' to have God's wisdom and 20/20 vision. I am praying for strength, hope, and peace that goes beyond all understanding. Please keep us updated on your mom's progress.
I've already purchased my pink and silver Hershey kisses for the October promotion. We will sell, sell, sell, sell!

Been through scares twice. Once when I was a freshman in high school...turned out to just be a cyst. Next when I was a nursing mom. The lump didn't hurt and I had no fever, so it wasn't mastitis (sp), which I'd had before. The doctors were suspicious enough so they sent me for an ultrasound and mammo. Finally, still suspicious, they sent me for a needle aspiration. It was a clogged milk duct. Now, I know that is most likely not your mother's problem, but she need not panic yet. As someone else noted, there are a variety of reasons for "bad" results. Calcium deposits actually sound better than cancer, so look on the bright side and pray for the best.

I just wanted to add a note. Any time I say a prayer--be it from a request such as this or in my every day life I also include those that are doing the research for cures on these awful diseases etc. Also the doctors etc who are all working towards cures. Along with money to continue research I think prayers for them to give them guidance are very much needed. I am struggling with how to word this but I think you all get my idea. If you are not including these researchers in your prayers please think about adding them in also. Just a thought.
My prayers are with you and your mom. Please try not to worry too much about this ahead of time. I can't even count on my hands and toes how many times I have been through this with my own mom and myself. None of my mom's "calcium deposits," "cysts," or "lumps" have turned out to be cancer yet!! We have both been upset many times. I have fibroid cysts myself and am always feeling lumps in my own breasts which usually go away in a month or two or three (I have mamograms faithfully, though!) Of course, there is a chance that your mom may have something very serious, but she can easily survive this! Its just important to not get too upset until you know what exactly is going on with her! I have wasted a lot of my time and energy worrying about my mom without reason. With all the prayers you are getting from here, you have even less to worry about. I am thinking of you now.

My prayers are with you, and your mom. I just went through this, and had to go back for a magnified mammo. They said that it was calcium deposits, and that it is just something that they will keep an eye on for now, and I have another mammogram in 6 months.

Saying prayers for your mom AND you for strength at this time. And try not to worry too much. I have fibrocystic disease and have had multiple biopsies which all have turned out benign. My daughter (only 22) has already had 4 biopsies, as well, which were all benign. Breast cancer does run in our family, (lost my sister), but we keep a close eye on ourselves and always have those annual mammograms. It's great that your mom's doctor is right on top of this!
I also want to add that this is the BEST board!!! I posted this same message to SUDSOL and got SCOLDED for posting the message since it was not SU related! I can't believe it!!! I will DEFINITELY be hanging out here more often and WILL NOT be renewing my SUDSOL membership.
Thanks so much everyone. We ARE relieved and I will definitely be pushing the sale of the Hope Is sets. Actually my mom put some of the fliers about the Hope Is set in her Dr's office (with SU and her Dr's permission of course) and I ordered the pink ribbon charm for my Italian bracelet. Here is the lin kin case anyone wants to order one. They are $11 each and shipping is free.
Dear Alyson,
Thanks for the very good news!
Yeah for you and for your mom!
Thanks also for mentioning Mammogram...not a fun topic...but a necessary one. Let's encourage our friends to get one for their health!
And how about you reading this?
Have you been avoiding the not so much fun test?
Well, Honey! Call Monday and schedule your 2 appointments.
One for your "girls"
and
One to meet your best friend for lunch or tea that day to celebrate taking care of yourself!

SO is Monday good???? I will have to let you know my s-i-l may be up from Fla. I will call you we can catch up!
Hey Alyson,
So glad everything turned out okay for your mother. What a relief.
I too could not believe the way sudsol reacted to your request for prayer.
My subscription is up this month and I e-mailed them to let them know I would not be renewing. I received a not so friendly reply.
This site has so much more to offer in every aspect.
Hugs to you and your family.
