Cool Poppin Pastels ???

Why would one part of a stamp not take the pastels color properly to show the definition of the stamp? I am using True Friend flower- the stem colors nicely but the flower just looks like fuzzy soft color - no flower defintion? Thanks for any help, as I am using this technique for my stamp club next week.

It may be that it's drying quicker when you are dabbing on the flower part? Are you using versamark? If you kinda pounce the chalk in... and then swirl the dauber to smudge color in gently... keep doing this until you get the tone you want... I love poppin pastels... it's my favorite technique!!!

Or maybe you are putting the chalk on the flower too soon? I find that soemtimes I have to leave the Versamrk after it's stamped just for a few seconds for it to "set up". Otherwise, all you'll get is a blurry smudge.
This happens especially when your Versamark pad is nice and inked and juicy.
