Default rediform and retro techniques

I am hoping someone can help. I have a customer who has been lurking here and loving all the card posts. She has asked me what rediform and retro techniques are. She saw them listed in the gallery. Could anyone help me help her?

Thanks--Steffani

Not sure what "retro" technique is, but I'm sure someone on here will!

Okay...Retro technique is super easy and way fun. Take three colors from the same color group (e.g. here blues) one light, one medium and one dark. Take a piece of glossy white CS and use post it notes to cover up areas at random. It looks better if you keep the them straight. Take your darkest color and brayer over the entire CS. Next take some of your post it notes of and brayer over with your medium color. Then take the rest of the notes of and brayer again with your lightest color. Done. You have a cool background. Stamp however you like.

Click on SEARCH here in the forums and you can find instructions for most anything, or in the gallery to get stuff made with the techniques. Pretty cool, eh?

I did a variation of this, before I even knew this was an actual 'technique', but I did light color first, then went to darkest. I moved my post-it notes around and left some white showing. In hindsite, I think Jenn's instructions are easier. Going from lightest to darkest gives you more color variations. I think? Anyone else done it 'backwards'?
