Default Replacing center on Metal Edge Tags?????

Okay. I give up!! Most techniques I can figure out through diligent searching and reading, but I have been stumped! And I haven't seen any other threads on this topic, so now know I must be the village idiot.

I know how to take out the center of a metal edge tag...but how do you replace it with with an alternate color without adhesive showing? Glue dots show on the sides and I can't get CE on thin enough to not show either. I could probably sew them on...I'm sure it would be cute, but I avoid any type of sewing whatsoever! (I have even been known to hem my curtains with double-stick tape). I have been so impressed with the level of information offered on SCS that I know someone out there has the answer!

How about using the velum ones instead and coloring on the back with the pastels? I saw this at convention (I think.)

Okay, here's another idea...

How about removing the center of the tag, and sticking the new color insert directly to the background card stock. Then, you could run a ribbon around each side of the tag and attach to the card stock with a brad, eyelet, or something similar. Does that make sense?

Mini glue dots strectch to be any shape you want. They don't have to show. But I do it 1 of 2 ways: just punch the correct size square or circle and stick it to the vellum or white cardstock already there. You don't have to remove anything. Or remove the vellum or paper, punch the size square or circle and stick it to your page/card with adhesive of choice, then lay the empty metal edge on top and adhere down. You just give the illusion you've replaced the center.

I have put my metal edge tag through my Xyron so that adhesive is all over the back of the tag then I put it on the paper. Works great. You can also use the square and circle punches to punch out the color you want and then just place in the tag. That works great too. Both size circle and square punches work in both size tags. HTH's

Default center of tags

At a recent stamp camp, we punched a circle out of desired cardstock. We sponged the paper on the tag to match the color cardstock and edged the new circle(confetti white with only orange edge) with the same color we used to sponge the tag paper. We used the hermafix to attach the new circle to the tag. You would attach it roight on the tag paper.

HTH and hope it makes sense
