Don't know how to do the technique(am actually interested to know, myself), but I HAD to comment on your name/signature! I'm a HUGE hockey fan, too, and totally missing the hockey season this year! I'm originally from Detroit, so the Red Wings are my guys. Who's your team? ;)

Fill the entire base of a paper plate with shaving cream. Smooth with a plastic knife like you are covering a pie. (It's very important to not scrimp on the shaving cream--it is super cheap so no harm done!!) Randomly place 3-4 drops of each color of ink refill you plan to use. Swirl in the ink drops with the knife--similar to the marble technique in cooking--I don't bake so I can't elaborate, but I will tell you not to mix thoroughly. Squish your background cardstock into the shaving cream; be sure to get corners and everything completely squished. Pull out the cardstock, scrape excess shaving cream with your knife and then rub off completely using a paper towel. (Once you have squished the action is complete--people worry about the scraping process and it doesn't affect the image at all.)

I'm using pretty in pink and rose romance for Valentine cards!!

Hope that helps,
Lisa

Also if you use glossy card stock it works better. Make sure to let it dry throughly before you stamp on it. It makes a really cool background. Hope this helps.

I always do up a ton while I've got my area all shaving creamy and save the extras for quickie projects later. It's the perfect project to do when I'm camping...super cheap so others can join in and really cuts down on the clean up and smell! It was the first technique I ever learned from my demo.

I love this technique and it makes for a really great "scented" card!

I find that swirling with a fork makes a really nice pattern
