Default Stampin on a CD

I want to 'dress' up some CD's. I've seen some wonderful ideas but what paper do you use? The CD labels are SO expensive. Do you use cardstock, copy paper? How do you 'glue' it down? Does this interfere with playing? Thanks for any help. I can't wait to do this. Marci

We did a project with CDs at the stamp club I attend, and we stamped directly onto the CD with StazOn ink. We just had to make sure everyone stamped on the correct side of the CD.

I forget which brand of CD we used, but there wasn't much writing from the manufacturer on the actual CD.

I wouldn't suggest trying to glue anything onto a CD. In fact, CD manufacturers, recommend that you DON'T put stickers/labels on them, even the kind that are specifically made for CDs. I've been told that the extra weight can cause the CD to spin improperly and make it unreadable.

I have a friend who prints labels for CDs all the time. He uses the label paper that is not pre-punched. Mirkwood has a template, CD Label. The page also says "The outer circle should be 4.5 inches in diameter, and the inner circle should be 1.5 inches in diameter."
