Question Stamping on ceramic ornament

I bought some round, flat ceramic ornaments from Hobby Lobby to stamp on. My question is do I need to prep the ornament first? Feels like ceramic and I am worried the staz-on or markers will bleed or run? Is it okay to stamp on? I assumed I would color in with markers, use glitter etc and then spray with a top coat to seal. Is this correct? Thanks for your help!!!

As far as I know that is right. I just read a thread where they just stamped with reg. ink pads, but I think Staz-on might be better. I just bought some at Hobby Lobby, and that's what I plan to do. I think if it doesn't stamp good you can clean it off before you seal it. I just looked at the gallery of Edee. She had some on there.

I stamped the image with stazon, on to a piece of tissue paper. I used pencil crayons...but blender pen and chlk would likely work too. I then painted the ornament with crystal effects, put the tissue ontop, then spreadmore cx on top...then covered it all with glitter...they turned out beautiful...if I had a decent camara I would post a link...

these are fun and I got tons of comments at work on how pretty they are.

If they are the glossy ornaments then Staz On will work. If they are the plain ceramic that you paint then you can use regular inks to.
