Default stamping on hot foam?

Hey Paper crafts had a pumpkin on the National Card Day preparty page and they just say to heat foam, stamp, allow to cool...
Anyone tried this? Anything I should know prior to setting off all the smoke alarms in my house?
Did you just use a heat gun?
The card looks pretty cute - might be a fun thing for next shoebox swap.

I have stamped on fun foam. Just heat some with your heat gun, press the stamp down and hold for a few seconds (press hard). The impression is left in the foam. I did some leaves on tan fun foam and then used Rub N Buff to go over them with some metallic colors which looked really good and it was hard to tell that they were made with foam.

yep BTDT with this and it's really cute...just use your heat gun (make sure you are on a surface that won't melt - no plastic tables or cutting mats!!!) to heat up the foam for about 15 seconds...then press your stamp into the heated foam....hold the stamp there under pressure for about 20 seconds to really set the image..and viola!!!

Kloye,
I have tried this before. You do use your heat gun, but don't hold it on tho long or the foam will melt.

I've read you heat the foam until it begins to get 'sparkly' and then impress your image in it. Haven't tried it yet, though.
