I am getting ready to do several paint cans - the first will be just the quart size - no handle so it will be easier. My question: How does the recipient OPEN the can?
I WARNED you it was a stupid question!

With a paint can "key"? When I repainted my living room last year, the store gave me a little opener, but I would think you can just buy one since you can buy empty cans. Attach one to the can lid with clear packing tape.

yeah, and in fact, they double as a bottle opener, so it came in real handy when we painted our house...open a can of paint, crack open a beer...more so for the guys, but it's still a great 'multi-purpose tool'!! Good luck!
You can get a paint can opener at Walmart for less than $1.00. I attatch mine to the side on the handle with ribbon or a twist tie. There is an example in my gallery if you want to see. Good luck on yours and I hope you post it so we can all see.

Thanx for the heads-up! I am getting ready to do my first as well and hadn't even thought of that! Now I won't have to learn the hard way (as usual). I LOVE this site!
