I thought so too! :-) I am so getting his hummingbird stamp. Oh! Check out his Cloisonn Pot and how he designed it to be divided and used in different ways. Love his plant leaves technique! http://tinyurl.com/6mj6vg
This guy is a genius! I looked at his stamps and got light-headed, they're all so cool. I was just sorry he didn't have more in his store, but maybe someday.
And I am *definitely* going to do the TP stamp, brilliant!
omgosh, that is a cool technique! I have a heart stamp that might work for this, I'll have to play around with that this afternoon. Thanks for sharing!
I just love Michael Strong. He doesn't have a lot of stamps, but he puts his heart and soul in every one. He used to be on the Carol Duvall Show sometimes and that's where I first saw him. I just ordered some of his stamps and here he has a new one....I sent him an email after his last show on Craft TV and told him about the blue liners in Coors cans. Just in case none of you have seen that, if you ever use the metal from soda/beer cans for crafting; the blue inside the coors and coors lite cans is just beautiful.
Hugs...ps
Thats where I've seen him! I kept racking my brain thinking I knew his face, I used to watch Carol Duvall all the time ... I checked out his site and his stamps have so much fun detail in them!
Wow that is really neat. The things people create and experiment with. I don't have any embossing things but maybe one day, I see a lot of things people create with them.
to me it looks like Parchment Art. The person who made it doesn't say if it is done with Parchment aka heavy weight vellum. You can see some of this art work in my album on SCS or on my website www.angelfire.com/nv2/carbonescorner
I remember seeing this on tv and he is such a sweet guy and he does put his whole heart into his work. Now, I have to get these two projects and supplies, another purchase added to my want list......never bored, anyway, tfs

If you ever have a chance to take one of his classes, do so. If was at the Yosemite Stamp Escape in 2007 and he was wonderful. A very warm, funny man with a great talent. I have 3 of his stamps and just ordered 2 more. They are fun to use with a lot of different techniques.
I just tried it with a lace stamp that I have. I am wondering if one needs to use a very cheap brand of TP. Charmin does not totally disintegrate when I soak it in warm water. Otherwise, it is a fun technique. The design really pops when you place the embossed TP in the water.
Charmin probably won't work. In Michael's inst. he says to use a *single ply* sheet of TP.
Michael has several video tutorials on www.crafttvweekly.com
Go to the stamping side - The Scrapbook Lounge, not the beading side - Plum & Verdigris. You can watch older videos by clicking on Archives at the top. I love the one where he cuts his stamped vase and makes diff. images from the parts. I didn't have to register until I wanted to print the how-to file.
I've seen his crafting spots on Carol Duvall also. I think he is a warm, down-to-earth, happy person.
May God bless, Sandi

Reason: addin' stuff
I've tried it with 3 different kinds of TP now and can't get it to work. Even swiped some from a public restroom thinking an industrial brand might work better. And yes, I've separated it into a single-ply, but it still won't disintegrate completely. Tried gently rubbing off what was left (while still wet), but just ended up tearing the embossed portion. Left one to soak overnight and that didn't help either.
I am glad that it wasn't just me. I tried this too, but couldn't get it to completely disintegrate either. What I ended up doing, was taking a paint brush to try and brush the extra away. Still wasn't happy with the results but I hated to throw it away. I layed the embossed part on a plastic lid. I took elmers's glue and filled in the holes. When the glue was dry, I peeled it up and I used chalk to add color to the glue. It looked really cool. I have it ready to add to a card this week. When I finish that card, I will post it here.

Anybody else successful at this?
Aww girl. I'm sorry. I haven't tried it yet. Maybe he needs to specify the toilet paper he is using. Wonder if it needs to be the really cheap stuff!!

Oh, this sounds great! Can't wait to see your card! thanks for sharing your experience trying this technique!
I tried the technique the other day. I like the idea, but I didn't have the right stamp. The only stamp I had was a celtic from CTMH and it didn't have any connecting lines. I don't have any of M. Strong's stamps. I'm still looking for something that would give good results in the stamps that I do have. I really don't want to buy a tamp just to try a technique that I may never do again, although I do like the concept of it.
I tried this yesterday and got the TP to dissolve around the outer edges, but then in between the lines, it didn't...
I let it soak over night and this morning was still the same...so a dabbed it with my finger and got a couple of spots, but not everything...(real frustrating). The stamp I used had fine lines and so I experienced the torn image as well. I am also wondering if the lines need to be thicker, to prevent that tearing....
I'm new, so I guess I need help, I couldn't find the link for TP lace technique using the thread, blog.strongstamps.com. I would like to try this technique, it looks really neat. How do you make TP Lace? Thanks for sharing and helping me.
I did what jessica suggested, went to jo-an's and bought "solvy" a water soluble stabilizer. It embossed well and it dissolved immediatly. So can't wait till michael's stamp arrives to try it out.......ken

Thank You, Thank You!!! With your help I found it. I'm so excited, I'm going to try this as soon as I can. I will let you know how it goes. It looks so pretty, I will have to see if I have a stamp that will work.
I have been working on this for a few days. Here are my first two pieces..I have the next two pieces downstairs soaking for 3 days..and the TP is not dissolving all the way. See pictures. Stamp is a different one.
