Scotch makes Vellum Tape that I have purchased from Hobby Lobby and I've also seen this at scrapbooking stores. It is not cheap, 11 yards for about $6.00, but it works! The roll has a backing on it, so you unroll and place one sticky side, then peel off the backing. I always run my bone folder over the backing after placing on one side of what I want to stick, the tape is so thin that sometimes it likes to stick to the backing. I just used it the other night --right after I stuck the vellum to my paper I could see the tape, but after a while it disappeared. Hope all this makes sense!
I really would like to know also. There have been times when I haven't used vellum because I can't attach it to the card without unsightly spots! Does that make sense??!?
It somewhat depends on what kind of vellum you use. I've gotten vellum at Michael's and just used regular Scotch Double Stick tape and you couldn't see through it at all - I actually showed it to my demo and she asked how I got it to stick because the tape was virtually invisible! But, some of the SU vellums are thinner I think, because when I've tried the same thing with that, the tape shows through.
So my suggestion would be buy a pack of vellum at Micahel's and just use the double stick tape. Good luck!
My sister-in-law helped me with the unsightly vellum problem with an out of the box idea. She said try and wrap the edges of the vellum around the cardstock piece under it. So if you are using a strip of vellum for a title, just make it a little longer so the sides wrap around the cardstock underneath it. The adhesive won't matter since it is behind. This doesn't work in every case, but it has helped me in many card and scrapbook "situations". When this doesn't work, I have been using Scotch brand vellum adhesive...while not perfect it is much better than mono especially if you can put it under an image on the vellum.
I am not sure if they sell it at major craft stores yet but my local stamping store sells a spray adhesive for vellum. Seems like that would work faster than athing else. HTH--Tracy
Does anyone know if the spray adhesive works? I do have the Michael's Vellum (it's pretty thick, too). I"ll try the double stick tape. That would help a lot!
If I am going to be mounting something on top of the vellum, I use my regular adhesive and glue in the area that I will be mounting my next item. That way it is covered, it does leave the vellum loose everywhere else, but so far that has not been a problem.
I used the vellum spray last night it works great! It says it takes about 2-5 minutes to get tacky but I put in on after about a minute and it stuck.
For QUICK.... I would use the vellum spray. I bought mine at Ben Franklin's.
Hope this helps. I used Stampin' Up vellum cardstock and the spray worked faster. I have also used the vellum tape and love it but for quick I would use the spray.

I don't like using sprays in the house with my 2 dogs, so I use the Vellum tape from 3M. Fortunately, I can get it a little cheaper. The Xyron also works well, but I am so cheap that I hate to use a lot of adhesive when I can get by with the four corners! I guess I should get over it. LOL

i second the xyron method. i never have any luck with vellum adhesive (and i shelled out for a whole roll of the scotch kind). i've tried all different methods of application, but it always seems to show. and if you are doing 100 cards, xyron will be ALOT faster.
the scotch vellum tape still shows if the cardstock behind it is medium to dark. the spray is really good but you have to wait for it to get tacky to stick it on, but at least it doesn't show.
3M/Scotch Removable Glue Stick, 2nd favorite of mine
Spray adhesive, 3rd favorite (there's a low fume/odor type made for scrappers, so I've been told, but I've never seen it. I use spray adhesive only as a last resort as I am sensitive to the fumes and most definitely advise you work in a well ventilated--even outdoor--area!)
