It is basically little pieces of art that are 1"x1". And I think most will have a word on it as well, but I could be wrong. A great source (other than the gallery here) is at Flickr.com. Just search inchies.

They are basically collectible artwork to trade & swap, similar to ATCs (Artist Trading Cards), which use a 1-inch canvas. They're really fun to try and you'll be amazed at what portions of larger stamps you can fit on an Inchie and have your stamp look totally different than originally intended!

Just take a piece of cardstock and make a 1-inch mask (punch a 1-inch square in it) and then use that to select portions of a stamped image you want to use. As mentioned above, add words to it, if you'd like and remember to initial your artwork!

There are a lot of Inchie swaps going on in the Swap Forum. Let me know if you have any more questions!

Ellen Hutson has had a couple of blog posts about these lately too, including things to do with them. HTH!

Today I discovered Postit note flags 1" x 1.7". Ideal for checking to see if a certain portion of your image will look good as an "inchie". Just put on your image and take a peek.
