I used the polished stone technique with a twist. Instead of rubbing the cotton on the card, I dabbed it on the stamp and then stamped. It is too pretty!!! When I learn to use the scanner, I will post a pic.
This is a technique that Beate did in the Resources, go to the home page and check it out, just click on Resources
I just did the Veramark Resist, wasn't real pleased with it, the first time I used my brayer too, UGH!!! Well anyway, I laid it down by me on the table and my DH made me a drink and brought it to me and used my new creation as a coaster!!!! Can you say "freak out"?!?!!!
Oh well, he was a sweetie for bringing me the drink, and after I picked him up off the floor I apologized
This is not new, but I recently got my hands on some Future Floor Wax & used it in my aquapainter with PearlEx. Really liked that technique! I used it as a project for 2 of my stamp clubs & they really liked it as well.

Hey, I did this for the first time this morning too! I made me a sampler with all the PearlEx I have, loved the look!
Thank you for the comment on my signature line, after Daven's, Lana's & Britta's I thought I would do a correct pronunciation for my name
I just learned something called marker batik (so I could teach it at my demo meeting lol) Scribble on plastic wrap with markers, spritz it with water and lay it on glossy cardstock.

would love to see a example of this.
Okay got 2 cards uploaded using marker batik in the background...hope you like them
Try it on the regular...I did and like the effect of the glossy better. It doesn't absorb into the glossy so you get a surface blending of the colors. You can really see it in the sample that I used bliss blue & close to cocoa...you have those two colors and the blended shade which looks kinda grey.

I've seen other say they mix PearlEx with hairspray and Future Floor Wax. How much PearlEx do you use with either one. If you put it in a small travel size hairspray bottle? How much did you use in the aquapainter. I just got a set of those and haven't used them yet. Thanks.
I just tried Delight air dry modeling compound today. It's lighter than paper, and very easy match SU colors simply by adding color from your reinkers. Also just tried microbeads with wonder tape and taping on sequins on wire with wonder tape. Just tried stamping on ribbon, and the Aquaria stamp set. (Guess I'm not watching the SuperBowl!) Also playing with Palettes ink, Opalescent ink and MicaMagic (and the micamagic pad dries out real fast). Sample of today's experimentation
The set is Aquaria and is on page 147 of the Big 2004-2005 Catty.
You almost can't go wrong when using the little fish, shell or turtle stamps. They are great for backgrounds. I think the turtle and the seahorse would make great polymer clay jewlery, too.
I think this set has been overlooked in favor of Fishy friends (a very popular set!), which is too bad as this one is great for masculine or adult cards/backgrounds and works well in dimensional projects.
mschoener ... if you search for PearlEx and Hairspray you'll
find lots of info in the forums. (be sure to use and or +)
I use a cheap travel size bottle of hairspray. I pour a little out into
another travel size bottle (don't want to waste anything) - then I add
a little alcohol to prevent clogs - then I add about 1/8 teaspoon of
the pearl-ex. Sometimes I add a little more with the lighter gold. It's
really up to you. Try a little, if you want a deeper color, just add a
touch more.
I also found that you should not pump the spray as you normally would.
Hold the card in the air, hold the bottle 6"-12" away from the car, then
give one firm push on the sprayer. It seems to get splotchy if you pump.
