Default woodgrain backgound

Anyone know how to get the woodgrain background look? It's it an actual background stamp or is it a technique? Thanks!!

You can also use a toothbrush to rub ink onto the cardstock.

You can also use the little line stamp from "All the Best" on creamy caramel or more mustard. Just randomly stamp it (with the lines vertical) all over your CS. Looks great. I saw a sample on here somewhere but I cannot for the life of me find it (I think because the foreground stamp was from a different set, so it went into that gallery instead of ATB).

If anyone knows what I'm talking about, can you post it?

I have done this technique using a toothbrush and several colors of reinkers. Ibelieve they were chocolate chip(or close to cocoa?), going grey, and really rust. I lightly dragged the toothbrush lightly over white cardstock with each color till I got the right look. Then I also blotched it lightly with going grey as well. To finish I drew lines across the background with a black marker to mimick planks and added cracks and and "nailheads". Hope this helps. I will try to attach the last one I made so you can see what it looks like.

Default Wood Grain Background

I have used this technique, and sometimes it works beautifully. I suggest playing around on scrap. Donna Dewbury brushes, I have one
that is fan shaped. I dip slightly the tips of the brush in some ink drops on
the cover of pad. Then very gently drag brush across CS You can do curvy and straight lines to get a variance in grain. The amount of pressure you use when dragging really depicts the outcome. Use light pressure.
Then, I take a round brush the one you use on stencils and dab around for knots. You can have a lot of fun with this.. Also can use SU's
Plaid Maker for more interesting effects. Hope this is clear as mud.
