You will have to enlarge the pdf slightly to get it to fit onto an 8.5 x 11 piece of cardstock. I'm not computer literate enough to figure out how to do that.
I am spatially challenged! Need some directions on how to get that thing folded and glued into the final shape! This is such a great idea! Did you take apart a holder you bought at the dollar store or design it to go around a plain pad? Thanks!

I know I wasn't the one who posted the original pattern but I just made on and it isn't hard--just fold in the right order!
First--look at the pattern.
Along the left side, top to bottom is the side front, side, back, side, other side front.
Along the right side are the bottom tabs that will interlock to hold the whole thing together. Let's label them, top to bottom, tab 3, tab 1, tab 2 (looks like a stretched out t-shirt!), tab 1, tab 3.
Next--Cut on the solid lines and score on the dotted lines. You need to cut the bottom tabs all the way to the dotted line between sides and bottom. Fold all the folds in the same direction (like all mountain folds).
Now--Fold your paper around to create the cube shape, ignoring the bottoms for the moment. You will have a space in the front between the two side fronts to be able to access your paper.
Next--you need to get this in the right order.
fold both tab 1s in--these are by the sides of the cube.
fold tab 2 in (the "T-shirt")--this is by the back of the cube.
fold in both tab 3s--these are below the side fronts and they will lock into the quarter circles that are the t-shirt's "armholes"
Voila!!!!!
You don't really have to glue these if you don't want to. They interlock to hold it together.
You will need to enlarge the pattern so that it goes all the way to 11 inches. I did it on on the copier on legal size paper to 119 percent then marked it on my cardstock.
1. Make sure you have acrobat reader on your computer. It is standard on almost every computer out there. If you don't have it, download it at www.adobe.com/acrobat
2. Right click on the file. Select "save target as" and then choose where you want the file to save. It will download and save where you designate.
3. You can open the file immediately by choosing "open" when it is done saving, or you can open it later (anytime!) since it is saved on your computer.
Thanks, fionna51, for helping with the ins and outs of Adobe Acrobat Reader. I know how to use the program for my needs, but I don't know enough about it to tell everyone how to use it.
