Default ? about old SU gold cording (non-elastic)

I need some advice--I'm making christmas cards with 2 large ornaments hanging from a pine bough. I want to use the old SU gold cording (which I still have leftover from YEARS ago!) to make a bow for the top of each ornament. I've tried punching 2 tiny holes and tying a bow but the bow doesn't stay tied well, and if i pull too tight, the holes break and I'm left with one big hole. Any ideas? Should I tie bows and just glue them on?
thanks in advance!

I've been tying them first, then adding a glue dot to the back and it seems to hold just fine. I like the added cord to the ornament images...it grounds them and they don't appear to be floating in space. :-)

Thanks Wanda, I'm going to try that....it was too hard threading the cord through those tiny holes!
On a side note, I saw on another thread that SU doesn't sell this type of cording anymore, now I'm going to have to hoard mine! I'll have to think about whether people are "cordworthy" before decorating a card with it!!!

Surely you don't have to hoard your cord! There must be other suppliers of the same or similar product! Some cards just look so good with this cording on it.

I find that you could just make a tiny little nick with you sharp scissors at the top of the paper exactly where you want the cord to go it will stay in that little cut. then flip it over and tack it with a glue dot or ATG glue. If you punch out an ornament shape then hide the cord under that..

then attach your corded card on top of the main part of the card with glue and it should stay!

I find that if you can find another source of the gold or silver cording.... the elastic kind is easier to tie.

I'd make a knot and then tie my bow.

The stretchy cord is a great alternative even though the roll is nowhere near as long as the old ones.
