Default accucut

HELP, I just got a deal on the accucut mark IV die cut machine and the person told me no top acrylic plate was needed. Don't have a video and I tried to find a demo at the accucut site. I have a Mac and not too cool with computers. It wont let me download the demo. Is there another avenue to see this thing? I should think a plate is needed. Thanks so much, I'm planning on sharing it and the dies with my S/U fellow demonstrators. Nana Janet:confused:

I checked the accucut website, it doesn't mention the clear plate for the Mark IV machine. Place die completely inside the tray with foam side up. It is often helpful to angle die slightly in the tray. Place material on top of die. Push die and tray until die meets roller. Turn handle in the direction you want die and tray to go through machine. Pressure is preset, so there is no guessing how hard to press! Remove die-cut shape. Place new material on top of die and roll through machine from the opposite direction. No handling of die between cuts!

The accucut machine uses that roller on the top as the cutting plate. It says that the roller and that tray need to be replaced periodically.

You will LOVE it. I have had mine for years and it is great for the large bag/box templates. Have fun...I have never had a plate but mine was one of the original machines so I don't know if they have changed

I have one of these on my wishlist for someday. I love to drool over all the pretty samples in their idea books!

No acrylic plate needed for the Mark III or IV. Acrylic is used with the Grandmark machines. Accucut has released an adaptor for cutting Sizzix dies, but I believe it's only for the Original, Bigz and XL dies. There was nothing on the adaptor pkg about the thinner dies. There's not a great deal of maintenance with this machine beyond changing the roller blade and the tray clearing the blade crevices of the paper residue after cutting. I've had my Accucut for over 5 yrs and have just purchased the replacement accessories set ( 20% off sale) for whenever the time comes when I should replace the tray and roller. Now that I have the adaptor, I'm sure that I will need it after all of the Sizzix cuts I am hoping to cut using this machine.
