I just ran out of dimensionals. Right now I'm using a roll of double stick foam stuff that is very difficult to work with. It sticks to my fingers when I try to cut it and is hard to get the backing off. Is there something I can buy locally to replace my dimensionals or do I just need to make an SU! order???

I like the SU! brand when I only want a little "pop" when I want a bigger "POP" I use Pop Dots by All Night Media (the backing peels off quite well too)

I agree with the above - it depends on the size of pop you want. A friend of mine who is a demo discovered that when you send the SU ones through the mail, they flatten to the point where you'd never know they were dimensional. She had sent a card to her mom and when she visited her, she saw the flat dimentional. So now I keep that in mind if I am mailing the card.
I just got some really neat red-line dimensionals from TexasJodyLynn yesterday. They are the same shape and size as the SU ones, but they are made with the red-line tape adhesive. She just did a share recently. I know this doesn't help you right now, but might in the future. She is planning on doing another share in June. Here's the link in case you want some later. http://confessionsofaribbonaddict.bl...icky-sale.html
I have done a few shares with Jody and she always does an great job!! Thanks Jody!
when in a pinch I use the pop dots you can buy at walmart they are bigger that stampinups but you can cut them in half or thirds I have an old pair of scissors I use just for sticky situations and then I just clean them with alcohol these do not stick so bad to your fingers I have also been know to run to the harware dept. and buy a roll of scotch brand mounting tape the4se items are usually on hand in my toolbox because i have kids come over that like to play and crate cards too ;) Good luck and try not to stick yourself to yourself ;) I know sometimes it get to the point you just toss the whole thing in the trash I have been known to do that too.LOL !!! take care of you ~~~Bluegirl~~~
I love the SU brand also - they are easy to use, just the right size and height.
But I do know you can get other brands anywhere - even check your local drug store in the stationary section. They usually carry a small section of scrapbooking supplies - i.e - double back sticky tape, dimensionals
Target is another store that carries these supplies. I have to be creative in a pinch as I don't have too many options near me to go to.
And the recycling of the rubber from the stamps you have cut is a great thing to do. I have bags of that!
Scrapbook Adhesives make some that are the same height (thickness) as SU. I tried using the foam scraps from trimming rubber stamps but I found they just didn't stick in the long run. HTH
Pop-Dots brand (at Joann's, Michael's, etc) is 1/8" thick. ZOTS adhesive dots has one that is 1/16" thick that I use quite a bit if I'm doing several layers.
Alternatively, you could run a bit of craft foam through your Xyron on both sides and then cut the pieces yourself.

I go to the paint dept at WalMart and get a roll of mounting tape. It's SO much cheaper than the Pop Dots or Dimentionals. The backing comes off very easily and it's not too high. Speaking of, I need to add that to my shopping list LOL ;)
As cheap as it gets! I use the remnants from mounting stamps- pull of both sides viola! sometimes you did have to add a little adhesive to the side that had rubber on it though...
I can't believe the good ideas I keep finding here!!! I was organizing my supplies yesterday to make everything more convenient to use. I came across a baggy of scraps from mounting my stamps and threw them away. I just finished digging throught the trash to retrieve them! Now I know what to do with them thanks to you!!!
My dollar store carries them! I like them because, they are higher than SU's.
Plus they are so much cheaper. My dollar store is called "It's Your Dollar" and it has lots of neat scrapbooking stuff.

This works SPECTACULARLY! I'm going to save tons of money doing this. Plus you can make colors that blend in better with your projects. (If you're OCD enough to care what the sides of your popped pieces look like.)

I saved a lot of straight pieces when I cut Define Your Life and the Alpha Set.
BTW, I love both of those sets!!!

I'm glad that I saw your post. I was beginning to think that I was the only one who bought them at the dollar store. Every dollar store here has them in black or white and in different shapes: small circles, large circles, squares and strips. They work very well and I've never had any problems with them.
On some items I won't cut costs but pop-dots I use any brand any place I can find them and I see no difference except for the ultra-thin ones I bought at a convention. I couldn't get the back paper off.
I use everybit of dimensional/pop dots by cutting up the negative part that is left after using the dots.
I don't like foam tape unless I have a big project that requires a long strip of tape. Its messy.
the craft foam through the xyron machine is a great idea - i am going to give that a try. i used to be really skimpy with my pop dots/dimensionals, but lately i have been adding WAY more so that my projects are more stable. instead of one in each corner, i am using more like 8 (except on little images) so this sounds like an economical way to do it. plus, my girls were in a foam phase, and now they are out of it, so i have sheets of that stuff just sitting around. i also like having some in different heights because some projects get more than one item popped and i need different heights - especially when one side of a popped image overlaps another popped image - one side gets a low dot and one gets a high dot so that it is level across the card - kwim?
anyway - thanks for sharing all these great ideas!!!!

I use foam tape all the time. But this makes it much easier.... I cut it into little squares first with an el cheapo craft knife (scissors will get really gummed up). I just peel off one little square, stick it to the card and then peel off the paper stuff.
Hint: When working on a project that needs really tiny pieces I don't cut too many ahead of what I might need. The next project might need 1" squares and I don't want an entire roll cut into quarter inches.
