Am I the only stamper without copic markers? I haven't bought the new nesties, or the new CB folders. I'm on a limited income and must watch what I spend. I'm disappointed when I look at all the new images on the cards. I would like to see more use of the older stamp sets. Am I all alone?
I don't have copics either but am hoping to get some for christmas. I do have nesties. There is a forum on SCS called wish-rak. It's a subforum of RAK (Random Acts of Kindness). You can sign up and we all exchange images. That way you don't have to spend any money. You send people images you have and others send images to you. We also exchange ribbon, nesties, punches, etc. If interested, I'm a mentee and would be happy to help you. Just look on the home page and sign up for RAK.

You're definitely not alone. Not only do I not have copics, I really don't have "good" markers at all (gasp!). Nor do I have nesties, or any kind of embossing/die cut machine. Although I pointedly let the DH know Michael's had the Cuttlebug half off. (Yeah, right, like a guy who does his Christmas shopping on Christmas Eve is gonna go to Michael's in time to snag me a bug!)
But, know what? Even though I like the stuff I see with all the new toys, I still do fine work with old stamps, old colors, old embellishments, and my same old creative mind! I use lots of old stamps. (Actually, my curse is falling in love with discontinued things)
A lot of the stampers around here are demos, and they HAVE to stay current. Which makes for some great deals when they sell off their retired stamp sets and accessories!!!
You are definitely not alone. I do not any diecut machine, sewing machine, nesties, cuddlebug or anything. I got some prismas by using the Michaels coupons and buying 1 marker a week.
I use my regular supplies to make my cards.
I don't have any Copics but I have played with them and I am not impressed enough to by them.
I have been picking up some nesties on ebay when the price is real low. Found a few sets for $7.50.
I have collected a few cbs of the trade and pif threads here at scs but haven't bought any.

You're not alone! I don't have any of those things. I started collecting punches, and don't want to switch to any die-cutting machines at this point. It's easy to drool over the latest "in" creations, but it's more creative to come up with your own ideas without a lot of fancy gadgets (not that I wouldn't take some fancy gadgets if I got them as gifts).

DITTO!!! this is ME!! No copics, no nesties, no cb!!
Yep, I too get the occaisional pang of jealousy.....but it goes away quickly when I start playing with all the fun things I DO have!! And when my non stamping friends oooohhhh and aaahhhh over my cards, it doesn't matter whether or not its a brand new stamp set or an oldie but goodie!!

No copics here! I think they cost too much! I would rather use that money on new stamps!!
I have an old set of water color pencils, SU markers and SU watercolor crayons and lots of bender pens. I just used a water pen last night, first time in a long time. I forgot I had a water pen!
I find it is hard to keep up with all the "New" stuff. I tend to use cash for my stamping habit. This way my hubby does not see a charge bill! Know what I mean!!

LOL TOo funny! I agree with the copics being too much money.
With everything I read I would LOVE to have copics, but much to expensive for me. I dont have the New nestabilites. I do have alot of cuttlebug folders, but I dont use them as much as I should. I think most of us are collectors anyway lol. I always say, I just buy all this stuff so when Hell freezes over, I will have something to do! LOL
I have some of the copic pencils. (coupon and on sale type of deal). However, I do not use them much. I think it is because I do not think I color very well.
I would love the own the Nesties, but I am so confused by the whole thing I cannot choose which would be best to buy.
I have not seen Copics in my area. Probably not the item I would want to have, based on the price. Have some of the cuttlebug folders, but they are old. I do have a single set of Nesties though. Sounds like you are enjoying what you have. And saving money by not purchasing the latest "in" thing.
No Copics -- not big on coloring
No CB or any die cut -- never been into diecuts
What I do have is every color of SU inks, craft and classic, lots of stamps and paper so I do not feel limited or left out at all. New stamps are nice to have and there are many sets on my wish list, but older sets can be fun, too, and they do like to see ink now and then!

No, you are not alone! Like many who've already posted here, I don't have copic markers, nesties, or a CB--at all, LOL! I spend most of my craft dollars on stamps.
I've been playing with sharpies and bic mark-it markers to get something of the look of copics and have been very happy with the results. Of course, not as many colors or gradual shading options, but that's fine with me. For under $50, I got 36 mark-its and 30 sharpies, which is quite enough for my meager coloring skills.
I haven't posted much to the gallery lately (too busy) but there are still some of us who don't have all the latest and greatest and still do decent work, LOL!
I don't have Copics either. I color with my Prismacolor pencils and gamsol. I have the 24 pencil set and I've picked up a few more when I've gone to Dick Blick. I love using them and am satisfied with the results when I use them.
I do have nesties. I bought the complete set of rectangles and I'm planning to get the circles. That might be all.
I have quite a few CB embossing folders. DH gave me the Provo Craft EF storage binder for Christmas. Now I can organize my folders better.
There is so much to spend money on - it's hard to choose and prioritize. I try not to order high price items when I think I have to have them. Often, giving myself a "cooling off" period makes me realize I don't really need the item.

Me too, no copics or nesties either. Copics are way to expensive and I don't have the time to learn how to use them. Nesties I do want, but can't afford them right now.
No copics - and no plans to get them either. I do love the Bic Mark-its though. Cheap yet effective.
No die cut machine - I have decorative edge scissors, and some of the Fiskars scrap boss stencils for embossing. They're great.
Never had cable tv either. And now, after the mighty wind that swept through here last Sunday, we don't have regular tv either. Our antennae is all jacked up.

Maryann, that's usually been my strategy too. I love to shop Joanns online, so I put all kinds of extravagent things on my wish list. Then after a day or two, I couldn't even tell ya what it was I was wishing for.
For my birthday and mothers day I'm going to ask for Joann gift cards, so I can at least get a Cuttlebug. But it will come out of my kid's wallet, not mine. ;)

No copics nor nesties...and to be perfectly honest...I'm not really interested in either. They are far too expensive IMHO. I will do with what I have. My dh bought me photographic supplies for Christmas because I didn't even attempt to put stamping supplies on my list. I knew he wouldn't know what to do if I had.
Merry Christmas to you all and blessings in the new year.

I purchased a set of 12 Copics and tried them, but don't see the big deal with them. Tried to sell them on this forum, and no one made an offer, so I guess others are not mpressed with them either. I use Le Plume markers very little.
I do have the Prisma pencils and love those. I have some Nestabilities and lots of Sizzix and Cuttlebug dies, embossing folders and brass stencils. I use my Expression and BIGkick also.
I stopped purchasing Stampin' Up stamps since they only come in sets and mounted. Why buy a whole set of stamps and toss out all but 1-2 of the set? Also no need for the wood once I peal off the rubber. How many stamps does one person need?
Bought an ATG and don't like it either, going to give that away to someone that will use it.
As has been said before on this thread, some of these people are professional artists and have to have all the latest craft tools. Some of us craft just for the enjoyment and creative expression we get from it.
I don't have the copics and I don't have any plans to get them. I can't miss what I don't have, right? LOL No Really, I am trying to be fiscally careful right now and I don't see copics as worth the expense..especially since I would end up feeling like I would need so many of the different colors and my wish list would keep growing.
I did purchase some nesties and gave them to my dd to give me for Chanukkah. I'm hoping to have some time later today to play with them. A couple of years ago w/ a M's coupon I had my parents get me a Big/Kick for Chanukkah...Lots of new stuff keeps coming out. I tend to wait a while and see what the reviews are and think about my hobby crafting style and if I really still want it I end up getting 1 largeish crafting related item for a holiday gift.
In the begining, about 10years ago, when I began paper crafting I bought so much on impluse. course, there were less things available then and we all seemed to rush and buy whatever was new. I had lots of buyers remorse then, and learnd to wait a bit (for the most part as I do still get impulsive at times.)

No copics here! I tried them and they just weren't for me.
Amber, you're not the first person I've read that didn't care for Copics. But I can never pin it down as to what people don't like about them. I'd like to get a few of the Prismacolor markers since they are more available to me, but I wonder if they are so similar to Copics? What was it about the Copics that you didn't care for?

Nope, don't have Copics, any die cutting machine, or nesties. And I really don't plan on getting them. I have bunches of different brands of markers & love most of them, but prefer to color (when I do color) with twinks, or watercolor pencils, or one of several brands of colored pencils, or oil pastels, etc. For me the Copics are a little too bright. I like a softer look.

I have Copics, Nesties, and a CB with embossing folders. And all my stamps are new too.
BUT....I had NO markers at all when I started out in April. I also had NO punches or light box or brass embossing plates or stencils. I had no stamps, no stamp pads, no embossing powder; I had nothing. So while everything that I have is "new" it's only because I just started out. I am also a SU demo, so new stamps are cheaper for me than buying retired sets.
I bought Copics because I can get good results with them. I'm just not talented enough to make Le Plume or SU markers look good. I really admire people who can; I'm just not one of them LOL~
I'm also very willing to share. So Granny Kay, if you are in my neck of the woods, come on over and you can use anything I have. I'd love to have a stamping buddy.
I've been buying Copics with my Hobby Lobby coupons -- haven't even used them yet as my stamping stuff is still in boxes. I love the results people get with them -- bet they have artistic talent. Since my DIL is a great artist, I have high hopes she can get me started. I am really looking forward to playing with them.
nah, lots of people don't have all the latest tools and products. I don't have copics and don't plan to buy them (though if someone gave them to me I'm sure I wouldn't be upset). I only had one set of nesties before today but received two sets for Christmas. I won't be bothering to get any other shapes though - I've now got the rectangles, long rectangles and the circles...that should do me for most card layouts.
Don't get me wrong, it would be awesome to get my hands on all the neat new stuff that comes out but I can only use so much and actually find it a bit overwhelming when I get too much new stuff at once. Of course, if I designed cards for a living or something I would NEED all the newest stuff...
You're definitely not alone. Not only do I not have copics, I really don't have "good" markers at all (gasp!). Nor do I have nesties, or any kind of embossing/die cut machine. Just a Christmas update- I still do not have a Cuttlebug. OK, he bought me a nice OTT light for the craft room, because the lighting in there is awful. But he is SUCH a guy! I think he looked for a Cuttlebug, but on Christmas eve in the afternoon (he worked a half day), I have to assume he struck out.
