I have GOT to stop reading the Cuttlebug threads on SCS! I went to JoAnn's last week and talked myself out of using my 40% off coupon to buy a Cuttlebug. I decided not to get one because knowing me, I'd drive myself into bankruptcy buying all the fun dies and embossing folders! So today, I had a 50% off coupon and went to Michael's. The Cuttlebug is $10 cheaper at Mikes! It would've only been $40. BUT, I again talked myself out of buying one...
PLEASE give me words of encouragement that I am doing the right thing by not getting one. :? ~Michelle
Michelle, I thought I was the only one left on this site without a Cuttlebug YET.... Ha Ha I'm off tomorrow and thinking about a trip to M's even though I don't get their coupons.

No, I do not have one because I have set my sights on the Cricut, which we still can't afford. I hoping my honey will get the hint and give it to me for my birthday in April. Do you have any other Die Cut machines?
I don't have one... but I want one because I keep reading about them. I think I would prefer the Big Shot but the Cuttlebug is so darn cute.... I talked myself out of it once and am avoiding craft stores...ohhhhhhhhhh but wait... I do have a Michaels gift card still waiting to be used!
Art is intended to provoke an emotion from a total stranger. If youve succeeded in this, consider yourself an artist. Paper Shanks Blog. Love me or hate me, you are still talking about me
Well, here's another one that got bitten by the Bug today. Went to Michaels with coupon in hand and the Bug just jumped on me and followed me home. Been playing with the little thing tonight and just love it. Now I need more coupons for more dies. It never stops.
I don't have one and don't intend to get one. I can create BGs with my stamps. It would cost a fortune in dies. And honestly, I think it's a fad. Do I like the cards I see? Yes. But I haven't felt the need to have one. I'd rather have more stamps, ribbon, and patterned paper.
I was in your boat until today.. I was going to be good until my BD (May) but the DH said ok when I said I was looking at getting one... so I went to Mike's, talked them into giving me the 50% off (even though I didn't actually have a coupon) and bought 2 embossing folders and a dye cut. I love it! I was playing with my brass stencils tonight with it and they turned out ok (although I thought I was going to break it with the mouse pad stuffed into it). I didn't want the circuit because I wanted the embossing capability and it is too expensive for me at the moment (I would rather become a demo for $200!). Good luck with not buying the CB... you get hooked fast.

Sorry, toots...I can't help you there. I thought I was immunized...quit reading the thread weeks ago...covered my eyes when anyone talked about it...well, Jami (of Dirty Dozen fame) is to blame for my Cuttlebug purchase yesterday. She sent me a beautiful card that had the embossing on it that she did with the Cuttlebug!! I would post it, but it's in Dec's DD gallery, so I can't. But if you have a membership, I'll give the link. It's incredible in person. It also has the die cuts on it.
Sorry I'm not much help!!

I don't have one. We don't have Michaels or Joanns here - does Hobby Lobby sell them? Seriously, I'm new to demoing and only been stamping for a year so extra money at the moment is going into supplies.
Well, I am a recent Bug Mommy! I got the Cricut for Christmas from my mom. I had asked for a stove and had given up on wanting a Cricut when she told me no way in heck was I getting one way back in Sept. for my birthday. So I was TOALLY blown away when I got it for Christmas along with the rolling cart and 2 more cartridges! Yes, Santa was good!
Then today, that dang 50% off coupon got me to bring home a bug! With the coupon it was only 39.99. You can't beat that.... I got 2 embossing folders too. It was 56.00 even with tax. I have been playing with it non-stop since I got home... everytime DH comes near my craft room, I meet him at the door! LOL... he would probably kill me if he saw it. Well, maybe not kill me he'd get over it soon enough! lol He can see it next week and then I'll just tell him "Oh that thing... I've HAD it for awhile!" A week is AWHILE??? right??? LOL
Don't have any of the die cut embossing gizmos...do have a little voice in my head telling me it's silly when I'm not using most of the goodies I already have around me. Not tempted by any of them...........now!
Kitty
Okay all you Cuttlebuggers...stop posting here. You are NOT helping!! lol ;)
I will stop reading the threads. I will play with all my other toys. I will try to utilize all the other toys that are sitting here collecting dust. I will stop thinking about the Cuttlebug. I will stop thinking about the Cuttlebug. I will stop thinking about the Cuttlebug. Darn it's not working... *sigh*

I don't have any thing die cut related (or dry embossing). All of these threads are driving me crazy though. It all seems so ridiculously expensive. I've been happy with what I had until I started reading all of these threads and Julie HRR's blog. I blaim SCS for my confusion/temptation/indecision. Basically, I am starting to feel like I "need" one of the contraptions even though they are super expensive and will continue to gobble up more money in the future (as they are designed to do by adding new cartidges or die cut options). Ugh!
Don't have one, not gonna get one.
As a demo I just cannot justify the expense. I don't think I would use it enough in my own personal stuff, which I can barely get done as it is!
I agree with Jen70, I think it will pass over time.
Save your money, the catty will be here soon and they will start talking about that!!
I don't have one, and I can't see myself buying one either. I have SO many things. I have a dedicated stamp room, thousands of stamps and accessories, tons of punches and reams of paper, etc. There is no way I could justify, for me, the purchase of one. When I read that people bought one and haven't played with it after owning it for weeks, I feel like I'm doing the right thing for me.
I don't have one. I didn't get to read through all the responses so sorryif I repeat something but, I don't see my need to have one yet. I have so many things I need to learn and try with stamping that I can't even think about die cuts and what nots yet. Just my opinion, if you are ready for it, go for it, if not look forward to it!

I swore I wasn't even interested. I swore I would not get one. I saw some samples online and wasn't swayed. Then I saw a few pictures in a SCSr's blog that blew me away. I still was not going to get one because I thought they were $200 (mixed up with Cricut). Then I found out that I could find them online for $55 with all the stuff to go with on sale and fairly quick shipping. Here I sit anxiously awaiting it's arrival later this week. Guess who will be running home from work each day near end of week? I really did try to stay strong and then hubby was looking over my shoulder and saw me ooohing and ahhhhing over a card done with the CB and said to just buy it. How could I say no?

;) Of course, you couldn't say no. What a peach of a hubby!

If it's a tool you know you'll use often, it's a great investment, just like anything else you've purchased and use a lot, like your stamps, your inks, papers, etc.
If you know you wouldn't use it, then no sweat. If you change your mind down the road, it'll probably be there waitin'.
When everyone was droolin' over RubiCoil machines, I considered it, but my gut instincts told me I really wouldn't use it. I held to my instincts, and I was right; it would have been a very poor investment for me.
Until I *knew* what I would/could do with a Big Shot, I wasn't interested at all. And, then, when I did, I knew it would be a good (tool) investment for me.

Its something that Im not really interested in having. I do love all the gorgeous cards that Ive been seeing in the gallery, but its just not for me! ;)
Run! Run far far away!!!! Save yourself from the die cutting vortex that is a.k.a. Cuttlebug/Big Shot!!!
Once sucked in, you will never return!!!................
Opps.. I have a Big Shot, my kiddos bought it for me for Christmas!
I thought the Cuttlebug was something totally different, I haven’t read ANY of the Cuttlebug threads so I’m really clueless about how the Cuttlebug actually works!
I don't own one either. We have a Ben Franklin's and they don't carry it. They can order one for me but I refuse to pay $90. Nearest Michael's and Joann's is 2 hours away. So far I've resisted ordering one online. Don't know how long that will last. Time will tell. I have to quit reading all the threads.
I agree with the others, resist for now.
I really think it's kinda like the stampede for the blue light special!
Others are doing it and others are buying it and I think I need some of this stuff and really don't use it enough to justify the cost. A certain frenzy comes over me because I see what others have and are doing! In reality some of these things are a craze that will go out as a fad. Wait for a bit and weigh whether or not you really want one and will use it, or if it's a passing phase. (Spoken from someone with a room full of supplies that I could never use up if I stamped for months on end!)
No cuttlebug here, either. In fact, just to show you how behind I am, I just got the SU light table for Christmas and am PERFECTLY happy with it. I won't be investing in another embosser thingy, no matter how wonderful the cards in the gallery are.

If you are not into it, don't get it because of the rage....you can go to the scrapbook store and try their dies and see how you like it. Many stores have similar machines in their workrooms, and many dies to choose from. Archivers is free. Some charge a small yearly die cut fee. Once you start seeing dies you love, then you will want a machine of your own, for home. If not, you have saved yourself from all the hoopla.!! Everyone has their own style and taste....we all need to do what we enjoy! :-D
I don't have one yet, either. I'm a hobby demo, and used my Christmas $$ toward my quarter minimums, but I was tempted! I don't have a "best customer" anymore (not counting me! lol ;) ), so I needed to work on my minimums. And get free stamps, too! But maybe for my birthday next month.......
I don't own a Cuttlebug, but I did get a Big Shot for Christmas. I was one of those that thought a personal die-cut machine was silly. I don't really use die-cuts, much. But, I really do like the Cuttlebug embossing folders. When I saw JulieHRR make her own chipboard ribbon slide, I knew I needed one. I have been playing with it almost daily since I got it two weeks ago. My 3yo ds loves turning the handle for me. He is so proud of himself. If you had asked me this 3 months ago, my answer would have been very different. But I am very glad I got one!!
Love the embossing feature that Cuttlebug can do, but I'm still working on stamping technique. It'll be a long time before I consider a Cuttlebug investment, and by then, there will probably be a Cuttlebug 2 or a Cuttlebug Supreme! Will wait until I get bored with my current tools - which will probably be never! I love stamps, punches, and ribbon too much.

All I do are cards, and I just don't see me getting one. Like someone else said, I'd rather get more ribbons and papers. But that's just me.
I think it's either a great tool for you - or it's just the latest thing to play with, and not a cheap one So..... everyone has to decide for themselves.

I dont have one but I realy want one. I have to wait as I'm saving for SAB so I told my DH if we can get the credit card paid off soon than I will get one as a treat! hoot!
I haven't caught the bug but seriously thinking about getting the Big Shot but only after saving up enough cash to pay for it and not on credit. It's killing me but I am enjoying all the samples in the gallery. I am hoping maybe by the the time I have enough money, I will have changed my mind. I seem to be doing allot of whim shopping thanks to all the ENABLERS ON HERE!
You know, I don't have one and really don't have a desire to get one. Call me silly! I have 2 friends with Cricuts (one owns a scrapping store) and they like them, but they do tons more scrapbooking than I do...which is none. I can't see yet why I need one to make cards.
I don't have one yet. I just can't justify spending that much $ for it yet. I also don't get the newspaper so I don't get many coupons. I forget to ask family to save the coupons. Oh well eventually I will probably get one.
