Does anyone have a suggestion as to what to use to attach the parchment paper that is used in the Pergamano technique to the cardstock? I got a snail especially made for vellum at Wal Mart and it doesn't stick at all. I don't want to use something that is going to show through the parchment and I don't know what to use. I hate to ruin the pieces that I have already made by trying something that isn't going to work any better than what I have already used.

When I do pergamano I usually attach the vellum with brads, eyelets or ribbons. It's the only way I have found to attach vellum to c/s without anything showing that I don't want to.
I use Vellum adhesive runner invisible bond by Therm O Web. I purchased it at Joann's. It is the only one I have found that really goes on clear or show through. Made my Christmas cards with it. If the vellum piece is small enough I run it through the xyron machine.
It depends on what is behind the vellum. I find what works with one back layer doesn't necessarily work with something else. Brads have always been a good bet...
I also don't like adhesive to show through my vellum. So I usually will cut the piece bigger than it needs to be and adhere it to the back of the cardstock. I also find that if you color the vellum on the back you can sometimes place a regular piece of adhesive and it's not noticeable.
The last time I used vellum on a card, I place two contrasting strips to hold the piece in place. It looked pretty natural.
I wonder if it makes a difference where you live with how well things stick. I live in Central Florida and a lot of things that don't hold very well here people say work great out west, etc. I think that is why some adhesives work for some people but not for others. Just a thought!
Yeah, I was going to say--you can buy special "Vellum mounting tape" at most craft stores but order online at Joanns and usually Oriental Trading Co. I've had some places where the glue dots show, unfortunately, but this would be the way to go if you have something over it or are attaching a small strip at each end with a brad or eyelet.

Be careful with some of the vellum tape. I had one from years ago when I was scrapbooking that was vellum tape that has yellowed since and is now very visible behind my layers. I am sure it was labeled "acid free" and such or else I wouldn't have used it. There is no way I would be able to tell you what it is, because I used it so long ago, I just wanted to let people know that buying cheap is not always the best. The dots sound like a good idea, I will have to give them a try from now on.

I have left an extra area of vellum to allow for attaching with ribbon, brads, eyelets and corner mounting punches. I have yet to find an adhesive that I feel doesn't show through, although the Tombow Vellum Adhesive in an obscure area seems to be the best.
I have tried everything on the market that says it is for Vellum. It still shows thru! Eyelets, brads or being able to hide the adhesive behind something is the only way I have found. I just messed up a piece I was doing using Vellum, a friend said "oh, try this"............. it was one of the tape runners "for Vellum", needless to say, it didn't work and I started completely over. Good luck!

This is so true! One year I was working on swaps for convention at my mom's in Maine during early July and the SNAIL just wasn't working. It was the humidity!! Glues sticks seem to work better in humid areas than SNAIL does. So...I would assume there would be similar kinds of issues for Vellum adhesives! Good luck!
