Question Base weight cardstock

I have been using Gina K Base weight white card stock for quite awhile. They are currently out of stock with this. For you who are familiar with both Gina K and Stamp Up heavy weight cardstock how do the two compare? Thanks

Gina's feels thicker. It takes more work to score and fold cleanly. Another difference is using alcohol markers. If you like a one layer card where you colored the image, you can do this with Gina K cardstock, but not SU. It will go through SU and show on the other side. Coloring on SU with alcohol markers on SU is not as seamless as other cardstocks. I find it works, but takes more work to blend well. Right now, I only have colored cardstocks of Gina K and wreath builder cut pieces of the heavy weight white, so I can't place side by side and feel the difference in the white. If you want a white cardstock for the card base that will stand and mail well, SU works. If you wish to stamp and not really color with alcohol markers, SU works.

I have SU as my sister is a demo and I get her discount. I have a lot of other white cardstock as it is easy to purchase through Amazon. I like Crafter's Companion Spectrum Noir white, but I find it a better deal with the Darice name. It is bright white, 100 lb, and colors well. I used to purchase Gina K a lot and I really like her cardstock, but it is out of stock quite a bit, so I found alternatives.

Thanks for your recommendation for Crafters Companion Spectrum Noir 100 lb cardstock or darice brand. Always looking for recommendations on other white cardstock.
You mentioned "blending" is this using Distress Oxides? I do a lot of distress oxide blending with and without water....and know not all cardstock works for this.

I was referring to blending the alcohol inks when coloring. I think they blend together better on other kinds of cardstock.

I am sure it works well for ink blending with my SU or GKD inks and a blending brush. I do this on all sorts of cardstock including SU. I do not use Oxide inks so have no experience with that ink on either GKD or SU cardstock.
