Default Is Bazzill Smoothies paper 80 lb.?

I just a whole bunch of Bazzill Smoothies paper in all colors and though I like the paper, I don't think it's very thick. I have 2-3 papers from "The Paper Company" that I bought at Michaels and I feel that their thickness is the same as that of Bazzill. So does anyone know that Bazzill Smoothies is 80 lb.? Because if it's not then I might just as well buy the paper from Michaels. Would anyone also be knowing what weight is the scrapbook paper at Michaels (the ones they sell by the sheet)?

Before I bought the paper, I did do some research and some of the sites did list it as 80# but there didn't seem to be authoritative source.

TIA!

Just wanted to let you know that I'm not sure but I just zipped an e-mail to Bazzill to get a direct answer for you. I'll let you know when I do!

this seems to be a topic that needs to have a thorough search done.
in a "google search" Wasau has cardstock that goes from 80 pound to 140 pound. so many people rave about papertrey 110 pound cardstock, though
shipping on that site and paperworks runs $12.00 alone for shipping.
If you live near or a large city or the next time you go to a large city,
check out the printing services; I have asked our small town printing
service if they have heavier white cardstock, and they went to the back room
and came out with something heavier, probably 15 cents a sheet.
Here is another site that has paper that has lower shipping, I may have to check them out, as I'm looking for better white cardstock also,
http://www.paperandmore.com/cat-card-stock.html?s=5

and here is some reviews

Just remember that the poundage may say the same on two different papers and truly be a totally different thickness. The poundage is figured on the 'parent sheet'. Since parent sheets can be different sizes it makes the poundage listed for a paper a little confusing.

That's so nice of you Mandy!

Thanks for the links Carolyn! The think with white CS is that if you use the Gamsol technique then you need to make sure that the paper has a "smooth" finish. I get my white CS from Kelly's paper and they showed me a cheaper substitute to the Neenah Classic Crest which was a Wasau Index paper (140 lb which would be ~ 90lb cover weight). I asked him if there would be a difference and he said that the Neenah paper was premium paper so there will be a difference but the Wasau paper is the closest match he has. So I got that and it works for me though I have noticed that at times using the OMS on Neenah is such a piece of cake.

For my gamsol technique, I use XpedX Brilliant White 80lb and it is perfect!

Bazzill smoothies is 70# paper. When it was first announced, the catalog it was in said it was 80#. However, when I actually received my order, I realized that it was not 80#. I called Bazzill and they verified that it was 70# and that the catalog was in error.

It's still super awesome! I think it is a good balance between 65# and 80#. A little thicker than 65#, but not so think that it gets that nasty, broken crease you get when folding unscored 80#.

Default update

I received my order, and I still prefer a thicker cardstock then this company
has to offer, however, their embossed sample packs were very nice and
lthe shipping was great.
