Default Which is the best rotary trimmer?

Does anyone have the Carl DC 100 or the Accu Cut A100 or any other personal rotary trimmer? I'm looking for a personal size rotary trimmer. It would be great if it could cut more than one sheet of cardstock at a time. If I'm going to make a card then I'm going to make 10 of that card so I have one the next time I need it. I want something that can cut small sizes, cuts very straight, the blade lasts a long time, and is easy to use. Please feel free to give me input on this. I know Fiscars makes a rotary trimmer but it looks a lot more expensive.

Thanks in advance for the help.

I have the fiskars rotary and I really like it alot! I got mine at Michael's w/ a 40% years ago and it's still cutting straight. I think I've only changed the blade a few times.

I havent had very good luck with Fiskars, Ive gone through three of them already! One of those was sent to me free from Fiskars (they have excellent customer service)!

Im in the market for a new cutter also. Ive heard that Tonic has a great guillotine cutter, and Carl cutters are suppose to work great also...

Ill be watching this tread to see what other SCSers suggest ~ ;)

I have a large Carl cutter and really like it. It's not good for taking with me though when my friends and I get together to crop. I need a personal trimmer that happens to be rotary.

SU new cutter is a gullitone one but it is designed to be completely portable - I belive it is manufactured by Tonic. Amy R gives a review of it on her blog http://prairiepaperandink.typepad.co...ews/index.html

I have the large Fiskers one but you can't cut more than 2 pieces of CS at a time - I have to change the blade about every 2 months and flip the cutting surface (a little rectangle thing) about every 3 months (4 sides = 1 year)...I also have the portable one...I only use that to score CS...not cut...

I thought about getting a Carl but I decided not to because I figured getting new blades and what not down the line would be more of a hassle (can't just run into your local Micheals or Officemax and grab replacement blades.

I am ordering the new SU one tommorrow

I have the Carl PRT-100 and love it! My husband actually bought it last year to help cut our wedding invitations and I have since claimed it as my own because it was so much more reliable than my Fiskars trimmer. It makes straight, clean edges and is very portable. I like that I can trim small pieces because the guard leaves space near the ends for you to line up thinner strips.

I do have trouble cutting more than two pieces of cardstock at a time, but I generally use Bazzill and SU cardstock, which are thicker than most.

I also like being able to pick up replacement blades and mats at my local Staples.

I have both the PRT-100 and DC-210 Carl Cutters and wouldn't use anything else!!! They are like "cutting butta" when it comes to SU cardstock. I'll do up to 6 sheets with the 210 but only 2 with the 100. The 100 is excellent for small cuts (under 3") and will cut off anyone's hands that tries to take it out of my stamp room!!! :-)

Jessica- sorry you're having trouble! Make sure you push down all the way on the rotary part before you begin to push it forward and that the screw that holds the blade in is screwed in tight, I've had mine come loose and it makes it work funny.

I just purchased a Carl RT-200 12"/A4 cutter and love it! Actually was looking for the Tonic brand but found this and remembered others raving about theirs so thought I'd try it out myself.

I have a Centipede rotary that's okay but this Carl is 9" wide; perfect for my needs. The cutters with extenders are a pain as I always need to clear up some space. loll The Carl is basically made of metal parts yet is lightweight, the Centipede; plastic. I have a standard Hunt guillotine cutter that works just fine, but I must stand to use it. So this Carl has everything that I felt was was missing in the others.

Purchased from Joann's with the 40% coupon and was pleased to see that Joann's also carries replacement blades.

I too have the Carl 200 (18 inch version) and all the blades and LOVE it. I've cut about 4,000 pieces of paper and am only now having to replace the pad under the blade. Not good for any cutting under an inch but I don't know if any rotary trimmers cut that small anyway. I ordered mine through my office and got a good deal. My mom loved it so much I bought her one for Mother's Day this year but I got her the 15 inch version to save space.

I have a Fiskars rotary cutter and LOVE it! I had so many problems with the smaller fiskars cutters, you know with the little orange insert that you slid up and down - SU used to carry them. Well I decided to try the rotary cutter by Fiskars and have had it for well over a year now and absolutely love it. It cuts great, and the best part - STRAIGHT! I had lots of trouble with curved edges with the other.
