I have the big shot express and my paper and all the pads got stuck... i guess the paper was too thick.. which I don't think it was because I had used it 3x before it got stuck. Is there anything I can do? thanks!

Unplug it, and get some muscle to pull it free. You don't want to burn out the motor.

IF that doesn't work, while UNPLUGGED, take the side panel off and see if you can move the gears manually.

Just a thought!

I just received mine today and I read the instructions. They sent a small screwdriver with the unit for emergencies. The instructions read: Insert the maintenance screwdriver into the small access hole at the rear of the machine and engage the screwdriver in the slot at the end of motor shaft. Turn the screwdriver until the sandwich begins to move. Moving the jammed sandwich in this way will take many turns of the screwdriver. Once the sandwich has cleared the rollers, plug in the Big Shot express machine. If the motor still does not operate call Sizzix Customer Relations.

I truly hope this helps. I'm on this site now because I tried mine and I'm just thrilled with it. I finished my 80 Christmas cards with the manual one and this convinced me to buy the express.

I hope you get it out and your machine still works fine.

I have an express, and it will overheat pretty easily. Took it to a group, card making session, room was warmer than where I work. We had our paper all cut to size and were cutting ovals one right after the other. And had a group standing around watching (probably restricted the air flow) I unplugged it, brought it home, and took the old lever Sizzix to the group. Some hours later, plugged in the express and it put the pad through, and all was fine. It had time to cool off. At first I thought the sandwich was too thick, but it was just the same as the cut before it. Called the troubleshooter number, we had arranged for me to send it in, however it resolved itself by cooling off. We had tried the screwdriver thing, and it would not work by the way. Have not had any trouble since. N. Taylor

Yay! The screwdriver thing worked like a charm. Lots of turns to get it passed the jammed area and then a flick of the switch pulled everything through.

Thanks for this post. What a life saver.
