Default Big Shot vs Cuttlebug cutting mats

I have a question that I'm hoping either someone knows the answer or maybe has access to the 2 machines and can find out the answer.

Does anyone know if the Cuttlebug clear cutting mats are the same thickness as the Big Shot cutting mats? The reason I ask is because we have a Michaels locally so I could purchase the Cuttlebug cutting mats for my BS there when I need them, but if they are a different thickness then they won't work and I would have to order them.

I did that, and would love to know if they will work! They are the same thickness, but not the same size in width or length. I still haven't tried them -- was thinking I might return them instead and order BS pads.

They are the same thickness and work very well. They aren't quite as wide as the bs pads but that isn't a problem. You could not however use bs pads with the cb.

Just curious . . . why wouldn't this work 'cause the BISK works in the CB just fine and aren't they (the BISK and BS cutting pads) the same size?

For some reason I'm drawing a complete blank as to what a bisk is.

I just looked at both pads and the cb pad is about 1/2 an inch smaller in width and about 2 inches shorter in length. I do not have the cb but I have been told that the opening is slightly smaller so that half inch on the bs pad may not fit the cb machine. It actually works out well because the cb pads are so easy to get and you have to order the bs ones online. At least in my area.

I hope that helps.

The BISK is the Big Impressions Starter Kit made by Ellison for the Big Shot. While all the plates in it are much bigger than the stuff for my CB, they all roll through just fine so that's why I was curious.

This is great news! I don't mind the length/width thing and this means that I can get a set of 2 and also use a coupon plus not have to hassle with ordering, so it's all good! I do think that I will keep using the original pad on the bottom so it doesn't slide around, but for the top one that gets cut into I think this would work unless it wants to slide, too.

Can someone with the multipurpose platform tell me if you still need to use a clear bottom plate with it? If not, then once I receive the one I ordered I can reserve the other bottom plate to use as a replacement top plate, too.

Does anyone know if they sell the Cuttlebug "C" platform in the stores. I have only seen "A" and "B" and I think "C" would be good for thin cut dies like Quickutz.
