I sure would recommend it! You can make a lot of different nice things with it! The coils must be purchased separatly. They come in many sizes and colors.
I guess it would be a great deal with a coupon. We don't have coupons here in Germany, very sad, always have to pay a fortune for craft items coming over from the US.
I don't have the book. I am wondering, too, if it's worth buying??!?!
I just love my bind it all. And I also own a rubicoil machine and the little rollabind system. The bind it all is definitely my favorite. It is so super easy to make little books . . . which are the perfect little gift. Just as easy to make a book, as it is a card. And then the card seems like more of a gift!!
I have made tons of little books for myself and for my daughers to keep in our purses. So handy to jot things down.
You can make them for seasons; or certain shopping lists, etc. I have a little Christmas one, that has become a keepsake because it has everyones wish lists in there; as well as my lists of things to do.
I've had occasion to make prayer shawls lately for three dear people who are going through difficult medical times. With the shawl, I like to give a little book of prayers for them; as well as some blank pages for them to journal their thoughts . . .
I could just go on and on, but I do love my bind it all.
I love my BIA I just got it for Christmas with a couple of wires to go with it. My Hubby bought it at my LLS with a 20% off coupon. The wires come in different sizes I believe they are 12inch long and you can cut them to fit your needs they range from $1.99 to $6.99 depending how many in a pack. I found large sheets of chipboard at Micheals in the art section with their poster boards. I am set to make books for the rest of the New Year!
P.S. It took me almost an hour trying to figure out how to align the holes by leaving margins on the edges. Use copy paper to practice. I was about to give up until voila! I got it!
I didn't buy the idea book yet I'm sure they have alot on info on it too.
Love my BIA! I love it even more now that I have the book that goes with it. I finally understand how to really use it and it is not just a hit-or-miss thing for me. I really recommend the book if you purchase the machine.
If you put BIND IT ALL in your search engine and go to any of the sites that sells the machine, most of them have the book. I have also seen it on Ebay. I have not seen it anywhere for less than $14.95 with different shipping cost.
You can use all kinds of things for covers!! Chipboard, covered cardboard, heavy weight cardstock and probably my favorite--the chipboard coasters.
The coil size will totally depend on what kinds of books you imagine yourself making. I have quite a variety but find myself reaching for the 1/2 inch, 3/4 inch and the little 3/8 inch the most.
Some of my coils are the bind it all brand, that I bought at my local stamp store; but most of them I purchased in bulk from Bonnie Boyle at www.bonniesbest.com. Bonnie is the best!!
Just a month or so ago, bind it all made a little adaptor available, for just the cost of shipping. It allows you to make the holes closer to the edge of the pages and covers, so that when you are using the smallest coils, there is better clearance. This might sound confusing right now, but it will make sense "when" you get your little machine.
Maybe they package these little adaptors with the BIA now?? I really don't know, but I just used mine and it was very helpful and much quicker than trimming all of those pages after punching.

I took the plung with the 20% off at stamping cottage and got my bind it all/book and a few coils. I figured I have been eyeing it forever and I will never get such a great deal again- so with 2 hrs left before teh sale is over- I bought it.
Funny thing, I mapquested stamping cottage and thought it was actually a store I could physically go visit. I like to touch and feel before I buy. I called to see what time she was opened until and if the 20% off was on line only...considering its only a 1/2 hour drive from my home. Good thing I called- its an ecommerce site only... no store to visit Great prices though and very friendly- cant wait until it arrives so I can play....
I would love to buy the coils in bulk but I doubt I will ever use that MANY COILS EVER. If anyone wants to go in 1/2 or 1/3 or even 1/4 for the packages and we can get a few sizes to sample that may be sheaper and a good option?

I've always heard people saying that they love their BIA machines, but I never thought I would make much use of one until I starting reading the threads about it here. So many ideas! The BIA is in the new TAC catalog, so now anyone can get it as a half-priced item. It is going to be on my next order!
and I can't seem to catch on how to make a book larger than the six holes Every time I think I've got I sscrew up again. I am thinking of the rubicoil hoping that it would be easier ti line up the holes to punch. Anybody having the same problem?

I guess I'm going to be different and say I love the rubicoil. I have a bia but I find when opening the books I make I can't fold them all the way back. With the rubicoil you can fold your books around cover to cover. You know what I mean. The bia coils aren't designed to do that. I just find the rubicoil coils so easy to work with. If there is a vote, mine would be rubicoil. You can also use the rubicoil with cardstock etc. Money wise the rubicoil is $150.00 compared to bia, which is much cheaper. Rubicoil you punch all your holes at once. Just my opinion.

I have the BIA and I really like it. What I discovered was that you can use spiral coils with it but you may have to stretch them a bit to fit. I prefer the spiral coils to the wire ones that work with the BIA but no one sells them with the exact pitch that works perfectly - but I did get some to stretch to fit! I would love to have the Rubicoil, but it was just too expensive for me.
love, love, LOVE my BIA. lining up the holes to bind longer pages was a challenge until i started thinking about the SU spiral punch; works the same way.
and, for the money, it's a great deal. i also like that i can bind only a small part of a larger sheet too. i've seen scrapbooks that have just the upper and lower couple of inches bound... can't do that with the rubicoil.
I just got my BIA yesterday. (I am not technologically quick, btw, LOL!) Yet, I opened it and punched some play papers with it, read the book I purchased with it and then made myself a scrapbook. It did not turn out perfectly, however, for my first try, I am very proud! I would highly recommend the book that is sold by the Bind-It-All site. It has a lot of projects as well as exact instructions on usage. I found it extremely worthwhile.
I love the BIA. I made 11 little scrapbooks for my family for Christmas. It's nice because I can make a book any size I want. I was spose to make calendars too, guess that will wait till next year.
If you have an Archivers near you there is a 30% off coupon in their newsletter that you can use on the BIA, it makes the price affordable.
What is the width of this thing? Can you make a book that is 8 1/2 by 11? Can we bind our stampin up books with this machine? Sorry so many questions. I usually take my stampin up books in to get them spiral bound so they stay open easier.

But as I'm thinking about it, if you had the time and the patience, if you took all the pages apart and did them you might be able to do it. A lot of work though.
THE WIDTH IS NOT THAT WIDE I THINK IT ONLY HAS LIKE 6 HOLES
(3 INCHES WIDE) YOU USE IT LIKE THE SU! SPIRAL PUNCH WHERE YOU HAVE TO ALIGN THE HOLES TO THE PUNCH TO GET IT RIGHT. I DID MY CATALOG AS MY FIRST PROJECT. THE O'WIRES THAT YOU PURCHASE FOR IT COME IN 12 INCHES SO YOU CUT THEM TO THE SIZE OF YOUR PROJECT. YOU CAN DO AS LITTLE AS A 3 INCH BOOK OR AS BIG AS YOU WANT IT.
I RECOMEND TO PRACTICE AND MAKE A LITTLE NOTEBOOK OR SOMETHIING. I KINDA MESSED UP MY NEW SU! CATALOG. MY PAGES WERE NOT EVEN AND THE HOLES BECOME OUT OF LINE SO THEY FALL OFF THE SPIRAL. I GOT IT PERFECT AT THE LAST SECTIONS OF THE BOOK THOUGH!

I have to disagree. I have a BIA and the books I've made I can wrap the pages back completely as you described with no problems. Not sure why it doesn't work for you. I really like my BIA. I just need to find more time to use it.
You can use the Rubi to bind the SU! catalog. I took mine to an office supply chain to have the glue binding cut off. Then I punched 10 pages at a time with my Rubi. It didn't take that long, and they turned out great. Just make sure you punch the correct side of the page! I used the 14mm coil.
I LOVE MY BIA!!!!!!!!! I've had so much fun making all different books with it. I got mine through a website that has free shipping on them. www.imaginescrapbooking.com They even have all of the accessories for the BIA---the tool kits, travel bags, and idea book! They sell the wires in smaller packages in all sizes. On my last order I got what they call "loose wire" they're the same quality as the BIA ones only WAAAAAAY cheaper, and you can order them in single 12" sections. I emailed the store yesterday and asked if it was possible to get an 18" wire and they said yes they have black 5/8 wires in any size!!!! they quoted me 12" for 80 cents and 7 cents per inch after 12" !!!! I'm using the 18" to re-bind some books for my son. I can't wait to get started!!!

I agree thats what I had done. I love my SU catties, they fold back so nice.
