I've been looking for the rectangular coasters in Canada for a long time and couldn't find them anywhere unless I go to the local pub. I contacted Canada Coaster by email and we had corresponded a bit back and forth about the size I needed. Of course they don't have it, "but" they have been thinking about offering the rectangle and maybe some other sizes...lets let them know that there is definitely a market for a variety of sizes and maybe even colors.
So here is a chance for US to give them some feedback on what we'd like to have through them other then the typical 4x4 square and the 4" circle.
They want to know what we want...
I want 6x6 for calendar covers, picture framing, notebooks etc....
I would also like a larger circle say maybe a 5" for those circle cards we all like to make.
5x7
4x6
4.5x9 perfect for the base of those Stampin' Up Clipboards
As for Shapes:
A nice large oval don't really know what size I'd choose tho... (big Sigh)
Octagon: that will fit nicely with the new Spellbinder Shaped dies.
Colors: black for sure, brown...hmmmm...I'm not sure if i would use any other colors...I need think on that one a little more.
Any other ideas....? I'll be in contact with them sometime next week...so the more input the better
I haven't checked your link but a scrapbook store near me got in some 4 X 6 shapes and they went like hotcakes. They haven't been able to get them in again.
Thanks for posting That is the kind of information they'd like to know...they mainly deal with promotional coasters, bar coasters that sort of thing but looking into expanding their scrapbook line.
I generally only use the 4 x 4 squares and circles. However I did also buy some 4 x 6 coasters when I ordered and they are great for mini books.
I personally would have no need for any other sizes.
BTW, you can buy stacks of plain coasters for all of the above sizes at the Scrapping Nook (located on Ontario Canada): http://www.thescrappingnook.ca/index.htm
Hmm...can't you do most of those sizes with chipboard and a good die cut? I know the Sizzix Bigz dies will cut through chipboard and actually, the SU Tabletop cutter will as well, so you can make your own. However, one thing you can't do automatically is have them pre-colored, which does cut down on your work for your projects. I think it'd be nice to have them in different shapes (for those that either don't want to die cut them or don't have die cuts) and in neutral base colors. If they're in neutral colors, then they're easier to spice up or down without having to paint them or cover them with paper.

I would want mine in black and in white or kraft. I would like the option to ink up the coaster in any color I want. Also, I like to use coasters for die cutting in my CB.
I'd love 6x6 and a large circle & and an oval. Really, I'd be interested in just about anything!
Black, brown/kraft, and white (could they do white?) would be my color choices, but, again, I'd like to see what they could offer. I'd probably buy some of each, at least at first.
They are willing to consider anything if there is enough of a demand for it...
This is great stuff! Keep it coming!
All this information will help for sure.
6x6 is definitely something most people I've spoken with are interested in
Rectangle shapes are also of some interest.
what about bulk...? would anyone prefer bulk or just retail packages..?
I'd love some circle and oval shaped ones.
I like my white square coasters, but I wouldn't be adverse to some creamy coloured ones - something along the lines of SU!'s Very Vanilla.
Bulk or retail? Depends on what they mean by bulk. I don't want to buy 500, but I generally do want more than 5 or 10. Maybe packages of 50 or something? Large enough for making a bunch or something or using with a group/class, but not so many that it takes you forever to use.

I would not be buying for mass production. A package with, say, 4-6 of whatever the shape is would work for me. You need 2 for a book, so multiples of 2 make sense.
I would buy a bulk pack (20?) upon occasion if I was making teacher/family gifts.
If they released seasonal shapes a few times a year, that would be so fun!

Sizes: 4x4, 5x5, 6x6, 5x7, 4x6, 4x9, 8x8; colors: white, cream, black; shapes: rectangles, circles, octagons. Letter shaped coasters might not be bad either .
I think the Octagon is a great idea. What about shapes like butterflies? Someone in Canada produces maple leaf shaped coasters and I would love to have those!
I also like the idea of 6x6.

I saw the maple leaf molson canadian coasters in a pub last week and was really liking the shape and wanted to take some with me. My DH saw the wheels turning and said "you're thinking about crafts aren't you!"....he knows me so well. I did resist the temptation to take some though! The butterfly shape would be cool too!
