Default Carpet adhesive for bags?

Hi Everyone!

I've been without a computer for a month now and I can't remember where I read about someone using a specific brand of carpet adhesive for decorating paper bags. Does anyone remember? A photo of the tape was shown as well.

Xyron just doesn't hold the cardstock or paper to the bags and I wanted to try the carpet tape.

HELP!

I use double-sided carpet tape all the time for things that really need a lot of 'staying power'. There are only a couple of brands that I'm aware of, the primary one being 3M (Scotch). I get the tape at my local hardware store -- in the adhesives area. I've used both the Scotch and my store's brand (ACE), and haven't been able to tell a difference. I do make sure I get the smooth, un-reinforced kind -- there is one with a mesh (for outdoor use, I think). If there are several types (light-duty, heavy-duty) at your store, you should be safe using the lighter one -- I've never had a problem with it coming un-stuck. HTH!
